Time to Order Pain Lands?

The enemy Pain Lands (Caves of Koilos , Shivan Reef , etc.) are getting reprints in M15 (link below). Should we invest in them now, or wait until the Khans lands come out?

I'd just get them now. They're all dirt cheap (except Shivan Reef ) and are probably only going to go up. Shivan Reef , it's probably safe to wait until it gets printed to start going for it.

I had a playset of all of the painlands, and I somehow sold 4 enemy sets (All my allied ones are still with me lol) besides Yavimaya Coast

Anyways, it's best to get them now. It seems like the prices have already raised a few dollars. If i remember correctly, those painlands were worth quite a sum when they were in standard.

mckin they have pretty much sold out on all the top MTG Single sites. The price is going up and will be adjusted when they restock.
I asked in another thread if they'd go up and a few people said they were already cheap and blah blah... idiots. Should have just trusted my own economic compass on this one. Had playsets of all but Shivan Reef in my cart at approx $12/playset but didn't go through with it last night. Playsets are now $20-$25...sweet.

I checked earlier today vs when I bought mine last night on tcg, coast hadnt moved, caves is up 25c, wastes went from 2-4 to 7-9,
coast I dont think will see much standard play, temple of mystery did most of the last year in the 2-3 range on SCG,
blue red usually isny a popular combo and will just replace basics in uwr control bc temples are better, new supple will lower the price for modern.
caves is in the modern event deck, wastes will be great for bg constellation decks, more consistent mana base in black splash green, and bg dredge

Coast has jumped $2 to $5. Caves has jumped $1 to $3.5. Forge has only 8 copies available on tcgplayer left LINK, cheapest NM is $6. Yesterday the median was $2!
Your info is off, these guys are shooting up.

I stand correcte now, coasts are now $5 lol, either way not concerned with prices since I think 4/5 will drop in price

Yeah, I don't think it will be a huge deal. They'll all be relatively easy and painless to acquire in a matter of months. At least I think.

I hope you guys are right and I can see that happening. I also think it's just as likely that they go for $6-$10 during their duration in standard.

Meh, I hope not. That would be bad. Maybe I'll buy a playset of a few...just in case.
But then again, that very behavior might fuel a price hop, the vert thing I dread.

I'm happy I ordered my playsets of Yavimaya Coast and Llanowar Wastes earlier, as they have already shot up...

The thing with these price jumps though, it's with the current supply of painlands. It may drop when m15 produces them. Of course, where standard is concerned, we will just have to see how relevant the painlands are compared to the next cycle of duals

SCG is going $3 for RW & BW. $4 for GU & GB. UR is $6. Wow thanks for helping the market SCG. Never thought I'd say that.

Prerelease hype. I think if you can get them now for cheap, do it and sell in the first week after release. Otherwise, I doubt they'll stay above $10. Keep in mind, this is the fourth reprint of pain lands.
That's comparable to buddy lands (Rootbound Crag , Glacial Fortress , et al), which are around the same power level from similar printings. The buddy lands floated around $5 (not the Innistrad ones, just the allied pairs) when they were in Standard.
Moreover, not all of these may see Standard play. Shivan Reef may find a home in some USA Control decks or whacky homebrews, but Esper and Azorious have shown to be the more dominant color combinations. The same is true for Yavimaya Coast and Battlefield Forge ...they're just not popular color combinations at the professional level and they may not be with M15 coming in.
We also don't know what types of lands are in Khans of Tarrkir. For all we know, they could be Snow-Covered Dual Fetch lands with Mutavault 's text written on them for good measure (hereby referred to as "Magical Christmas Lands"). Some of the pain lands that do see play may not be four-ofs, further driving down the price.
tl;dr-- if you can get pain lands for under $5, do it. Otherwise, you're throwing money away.
