To Buy or Not To Buy

So i want to buy a box of EMA for $270, but I don't know if I should. I need some of the cards in there such as Mana Crypt for various decks. But all of my various decks require other expensive pieces Ex: Mishra's Workshop that aren't in EMA.
Is it worth it to buy a box? To maybe split with a friend? There are also less packs than normal so that's kind of a bummer.
It's more of a question of whether you want just that one card or you want to have fun opening the box up.
take a look at mana crypts price and compare it to the box, then ask yourself that question again.
Personally I got my box for the experience of opening packs. I'll be happy with whatever mythics I get outta it. Or any cards that is :p my luck seems to be good with this set so I may just get a crypt myself.

ZeGinger True. Would you recommend I split the box with a friend or no?

Just buy a Mana Crypt and maybe 1-2 packs and keep $150 in the bank!

Profet93,
Buying a box is fine for folks who want to draft or who love opening packs.
For you though? Buy singles for sure. The Expected Value of a box is $260 so even if you somehow cracked the cards you want, on average you're going to lose money.
Here's more about EMA's Expected Value.

My buddy came down from upstate for the summer. We don't get to play much magic and loved the idea of this set. He got a box just so we could draft. In these cases, it's worth it. Otherwise you're better off with singles.

Learn from my mistakes and just go for the singles. Opening the cards you want will almost NEVER happen.

Profet93 only do it if you are a dirty pack cracked like me. If drafting/cubing/having a good time is the aim, then go for it. If you want a mana crypt, buy a mana crypt. They're plummeting in price I would think, and you are 100% likely to end up with one, as opposed to the percentile odds from a box.

Thank you everybody for your input. I think you guys are right and I will most probably just end up buying the singles.
I appreciate all of your help :)
