Tracking Issues with Packages

Sorry if this is the wrong place, but none of the other descriptions seemed to fit...

So recently I grabbed two Snapcaster Mages off of pucatrade at 5800 points (he's obviously significantly more now). However, they haven't shown up yet (it's been ten days and they're not shipping internationally or anything) and the tracking number just says "Shipping label created May 30"...

My question is: has this ever happened with anyone else tracking a package (of any kind) before? Did it end up making it to you okay? Should I be concerned that something strange is going on?

sometimes things in the mail get stolen by random people. either that, or maybe they forgot to mail it, b/c it says "Shipping label created May 30" not "shipped on may 30".

Even if they created a shipping label, then it should have updated to "picked up" once the carrier got the package. I would contact the trader and see how he responds.

I've had packages get lost etc...but my rule of thumb is that it generally should never take longer than 2 weeks to ship and get it within the continental US (my experience after getting hundreds of magic cards in every package or box imaginable).

Then again, there are special circumstances, sometimes.

But if there's a tracking number then it should have left its sorting facility and it should be on its way to you now. Something's wrong.

Maybe they forgot to ship? I would contact them and say you haven't received it yet.

Ive had this happen, and the next day, they arrive. Sometimes things just slip up in the system shrugs

I'm going to move this to Economics because it's about trade issues.

Sometimes, USPS takes an arbitrarily long period of time to deliver simple packages.

There may also be a difference between label creation and actual ship date. Does the label definitely include tracking, and have you tried tracking it?

You should definitely open a case on pucatrade if the person will not reply. I have traded over 250 cards on puca and there will be problems every rare now and then that are out of the sites control BUT pucatrade does have a 100% trade guarantee, meaning that even if you don't get your cards they will refund you the points, they are pretty awesome that way.

To me it sounds like the guy is trying to scam in some form or another.

Either he hit send to take them off the list so others will send to him instead. Check his profile, and see if he has any snappies on there.

He could be just hoping that the # will have them say, oh he had a tracking number.

Or he could have hit send, and waited to see what the price did. It climbed, so he kept em.

The trader did reply and seems as perplexed as I am. He's heading to his local post office to see if they can sort it out sometime in the next few days. I'm hoping that it's just one of those sometimes strange things that slips through the cracks of the postal service and the cards show up in the next week or so. Once it hits two weeks, then... I don't know.

Didgeridooda that last scenario is what I'm afraid of (hit send, then wait to see what the price did). Technically I think I can probably get the points back if it comes to that because a tracking number that clearly shows it never made it to me shows I didn't get the cards, but... By thinking I had them for the past week or so, I'll have essentially lost $30 (roughly $15 per snapcaster) because he' shot up so much recently. Not to mention everyone and their mother wants snapcasters on pucatrade, so it's a long wait until someone chooses you to begin with

I think it is the last one.

Though I have seen the first a couple times. Check his wants list on his profile. I have heard in a couple of cases people hit send to the ones waiting so they can be the only ones available to actually take the cards.

Either way, I think it would be right to open a case on the cards, and explain where you guys are at in the trade.
