Ugin, the Spirit Dragon's price was originally attributed to the demand in Standard and EDH. However, with his presence in Modern Tron and some Legacy MUD lists, how likely is it that his price will fall significantly come rotation?
I need one for a Standard deck and I'd also like him for my UTron list. Is his use in Modern and Legacy enough to warrant trading Modern and Eternal value for him?
If you believe his price will fall and his use in older formats warrants trading non-Standard value for him, how much should I value him at?
I grabbed two recently for my Tron deck, and afterwards reasoned alongside with ThatJunkMage for why it was an okay trade. Other pros of him: he's a mythic from a very lowly opened set, he's got immense casual appeal being a Dragon, he's extremely good in loads of Commander decks, he's now seeing Legacy play which always helps his foil prices, and as long as GR Tron is a thing he'll stay above $20. So I'll say, short term (next 2 years), he'll stay at $30-35. After he leaves standard he should definitely stay around $20-25. Just my opinion.

I think he's going to sit at 30$ no matter what. Eventually rise to 40-50$ In a few modern seasons.

If it continues to see play in modern and even legacy, then his price will sky rocket really soon!

He's seeing more play in Legacy with 12 Post and MUD, Modern with Tron. He's not a playset, so I don't see it being a $50.00 Karn Liberated price tag, but a 1-2x of I could see Ugin being a steady $20-30.

I just want to point out he's not rotating this fall. So with the standard card pool taking a significant hit, it's very possible that more people turn to him in standard when rotation comes. At the very least his use will stay the same and his price should remain fairly stable, give or take a couple dollars.
If your talking about when he rotates, then that's a little tougher to say. It'll all depend on how much use he sees over the next year in standard, how much play he is or is not seeing in modern/legacey in a year, and where his price is actually at when his rotation finally comes.
I'd say his price looks stable for at least the next 6 months. For the foreseeable future nothing looks to drastically change and if the meta is stable card prices will be stable.

Ha ha, immediately after posting that I remembered Origins is just a month away. So you'll have to keep an eye out. If we get spoilers that make Ugin more playable in standard or make tron any better in modern then his price may rise out of pure speculation, so just be wary.

Current price tag at $30 while being used as up to a two of in very few standard decks, i'd say he's not going anywhere anytime soon. RG Tron loves him and sometimes plays him up to a 4 of in place of oblivion stone. He' a sound investment. I'd say treat him as you would any other modern staple.
