Was This a Steal?

Today at PAX East, I bought two Deathrite Shamans, signed by Steve Argyle, for only $6 each. Honestly I feel that $6 for even an unsigned Shaman is a steal. Was this a smart buy? It did complete my playset which I was wanting to finish anyway; I'm just curious on what other people might think.
You're asking us if something you bought below market value was good?

I think there are people that view signed cards as less valuable, but I quite like signed cards. I think $6 for Deathrite Shaman is great!

I mean, I bought it from Troll and Toad, the same people who offered me $30 for my foil Abrupt Decay and $5 each for my extra playset of Polluted Deltas. I'm asking because I am unaware of any specific reasons they might have been selling them so cheap.

I think you did good. I don't generally value signed cards a whole lot more but would certainly make an exception for that one. Many would argue that it is the best one drop creature ever printed. Congrats on the find!

Because most sellers have to value signed cards as damaged for collection reasons.

I think you did alright, but not a steal. there are a lot of copies of DRS on TCG for 7.50 in LP-NM condition. Signed cards are typically listed as HP or damaged.
So you paid pretty much what it would be worth. Maybe saved a $1 if the card is NM. If you have a meta that loves signed cards or an outlet that values autographs at a premium, you probably made out extremely well.

Yes, those would be awesome to have. As you stated even $6 for normal ones is a steal.
