When DTK came out there was tons of hype over Myth Realized about its' price spiking and then it never sees any play. What happened?

Try playing with it. That's what happened. It's absolutely horrid.

Because it isn't played.

Everything is hyped when a set is released. Remember Narset at $40+? People needing to change their pants with Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker? Often times these hyped prices are, well, hyped. People get excited about cards that aren't played, and their prices fall accordingly.

The only time I've liked it was in prerelease when I got the seeded promo and threw together this fantastic U/W shell with a splash of green exclusively for dromoka. Shit was nuts. I had access to a decent amount of bombs and all the best support the colors had to offer. Really lucky stuff.

It turned out to be super slow. It just doesn't quite fit anywhere optimally.

Well as long as Dromoka's Command and Destructive Revelry are in the format and being widely played the card is bound not to see much action.

Also paying is just enough that you'll die using it before you have at least 8 lands if your in a control deck, unless you get lucky and all of your CMC 2 control spells work. (Ultimate Price, Disdainful Stroke, Bile Blight.) If you don't play it T1 then you're bound to miss a lot of triggers anyways.

The best deck for it is probably some kind of Prophet of Kruphix deck. Something that has tons of extra mana laying around. Funny then that the best creature to be paired with prophet of kruphix is Yisan, the Wanderer Bard who just doesn't like this card.

I think in the right environment (one not just jam-packed with enchantment destruction) the card could be very good, but unless your playing Mardu I think that Haunted Plate Mail is just straight up better. It also has evasion and is easier to activate. I've bludgeoned several people to death in local tournaments. The amount of times I've won with a Myth Realized is a little under half, and I played them both equally for a period of 2 months.

I don't think it is that good since I'm an aggro player.

Its good in enchantments matter decks, but thats probably about it.

In all honesty, the best case scenario people were brewing for this was a turn 1 play that just sits there accumulating value. People wanted to use this in control shells. The problem is that T1, you're either playing scry lands in standard or you want to have spell snare or path up in most control builds. It's too unreliable and slow elsewhere. Top decking this thing feels like shit. When you finally get to your win con, you want it to matter immediately or very shortly thereafter.

Even in 'enchantments matter' decks, it's a bad card. I was running a pair of them in my modern Monowhite Prison deck, and it was barely usable since my own Suppression Fields would hit it. The control shell is the best place for it, but even there you're banking on having it on turn 1. It dies to Abrupt Decay in all the non-standard formats where Decay is one of the more prevalent removal spells. There might be a standard enchantment-matters deck where it could shine, but so far I haven't seen anyone brewing one up. Luckily I only bought 2 when they first came out so I didn't loose too much on them.

You should be running that enchantment thay gives all enchantments shroud in modern enchantment decks. Can't ember the name. I run 2 with a single tutor as well. It's decent.

Chief, the card you are thinking of is Greater Auramancy.

But yeah still the best wincon in enchantments matter decks are probably sigil of the empty throne oe some type of Theros god because when you play them you're more likely to win fast. Whereas with myth realized you play it and it does nothing for a whole.

You could argue the same for sigil of throne but that's not really true because a single enchantment after playing thay is a 4/4 flier which is enough to win. A single enchantment after myth gives you a 1/1 with no evasion.
