Scalding Tarn is down like $17 and so is Liliana. All the modern staples recently plummeted. (Not that hard, but like $5 across the board) Why?

You sure you're not just looking at like, TCGLow on these cards? I don't see a change anywhere, really. Tarn is 75 mid because a few people listed them at like 50 with huge shipping fees. Other than that, nothing much has changed.

DevoidMage Might be true - I would take a peek at MTG Goldfish Movers/Shakers (that's where I got my information, could be false though) http://www.mtggoldfish.com/movers/paper/modern

No, I noticed that there were a bunch of Lilys going for 95 on tcgplayer. It's still super expensive, but better than the $110 mid price. I don't think there really is a reason other than perhaps nobody in their right mind is buying them at those super-inflated prices, so sellers are having to lower them.

Well, as someone who believes these prices were artificially inflated, the logical reason is that... the bubble popped.
