The other day I came across a site that sold Damnation and Arid Mesa for around $15! I'm not on the tightest budget ever but if I can snag these cards at NM condition for $15 then I'm very interested. BUUUT I forgot the site name : / I remember being something like MTG Player or Magic Player, but it definitely was NOT TCGPlayer. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and if the site does have NM cards?

yeah, I hadn't thought that maybe it was counterfeit, but I did squint at the screen and think "these have to be in the shittiest condition" lol

If the seller knows that they are selling Magic cards, and not "Just something that I found in the basement when I moved here", you will never get that good a deal on any staple or high value cards. There's a large counterfeiting scheme going on right now, so watch out for anything that seems suspicious.

That's more than half off...
There was a site called Star City Shop that went up yesterday and is now down. It looks like it was selling the new fakes. Are you sure what you saw was legit? It wouldn't surprise me if the people running that site started mimicking other sites as well, and that is a very steep discount.

The risk of those cards being fake greatly outweighs the chance of them being actual deals.
Starcityshop.com is a known counterfeit distributor, so it might have been there. It's currently down, though, and I hope it's as a result of legal action taken by WOTC and SCG.

It could have been starcityshop, CCGPlayer, or Channel Firestrike. Regardless, stay away from it.

Buy your cards at Channel Firestrike! The official card shop of Bryan Kybbler and Read Dook.

Yeah, that's sketchy as FUCK.
At this point in time, if it looks too good to be true, there's a 99.765% chance it is.
Dat counterfeiting scheme is kind of a big deal

truth is I wouldn't mind buying these counterfeits for one reason only. To have a card or few to use as a baseline for when I buy money cards. Be able to test and destroy these to know which tests it fails outside of the typographical errors.

Yeah, it was probably one of those fake Chinese counterfeit sites.
You can't get a real NM Arid Mesa for $15.
