Why is Dack Fayden 333$! Should I be buying Conspiracy with my friends and drafting it for fun AND in hopes of Dack?

I've always wanted to draft Conspiracy, never got to it though. Maybe I can draft in a month or two, after prere and after MM15

His foil is expensive because he's like, the only planeswalker used in vintage. He isn't used much, but he's used, and people like to pimp out their decks.

Sorry, but he is only 25.

On the subject of Dack though. Only print, really cool walker, and conspiracy might not have been really widely opened.

The title should most definitely have been "What the Dack..."

Sorry, i did not notice that.
Either way, there is about an 1/80 chance to get a Foil Dack Fayden. That means that you would have to open about 80 packs in order to get one. Because the Conspiracy booster boxes are about 150, you would be spending more than you would get. (BTW, Amazon is having a sale for the booster boxes for 90$) The fact that you may not even pull the foil Dack Fayden, is highly unlikely. Though, if you do end up pulling him, that would be AWESOME. He really is a nice planeswalker, so having him in your R/B deck, you would be the king of FNM.

Not entirely certain where you are getting your numbers from, but you're extremely wrong. 1 in 80 packs might have a regular Dack in it, but foil mythics are like, pretty rare, as it turns out. I've personally opened 3 boxes of conspiracy and got about 6 foil rares whatsoever, one of which was a mythic (The one artifact tutor lady).
There's 36 packs in a box. That means I opened 108 packs. I did not pull a foil Dack.
Please don't make up facts.

I was basing the facts off of another planeswalker from another set which had the same number of cards. The planeswalker was Nicol Bolas, so i was basing the facts off of him.
I also had misread the article. It was a 1/80 chance to pull the regular planeswalker. I currently do not know the chance to pull a foil Dack Fayden.

The reason he's so expensive is because by comparison to any other recently released set... no-one opened Conspiracy. Seriously, it was kind of a flop based on boxes sold. Because of that, the foil Dacks that -do- exist are sitting in a dusty warehouse somewhere, and not contributing to the market.

My friends and I have bought several boxes of Conspiracy to draft. It's a ton of fun and so far I've pulled 3 Dack Faydens (none foil). Keep in mind that a foil Marchesa, the Black Rose and a foil Scourge of the Throne are each sitting at about $100 as well. Then let's not forget the foil Brainstorms...
A ton of the boxes' foils are valuable!

Also, Dack's pricetag is because of his use in Vintage. In a format where people play Mox, Sol Rings, and drop Blightsteel Colossus on turn 2 Dack says "lol those are mine now."

I made a Conspiracy full-set cube. Had to buy a ton of packs recently to finish it, but it's awesome. I've opened at least three boxes worth. No foil Dack. Three regular Dack Fayden, though.

Yes you should.
