If anyone else has been looking at card prices, specifically on mtggoldfish, they would have noticed both Protean Hulk and Footsteps of the Goryo have almost tripled in their prices. For those that don't know, they are the "two card combo" in the titular Protean Hulk combo. From what I've known it's only a tier 2 deck and I haven't heard about it winning any tournaments recently, so what's happening?

Hulk flash was good in standard, and it is the fun kind of deck that everyone loves. The spike isn't a buyout, but rather lots of individual people liking the deck and choosing to get themselves a playset just in case. If you have the cards, sell them now. If you don't and want them, wait a couple months. The hype will die down and hulk will be back to about 2 bucks.

Zak Elsik's playing it at Grand Prix Pittsburgh, and he won a Grand Prix recently with another really janky deck, so people are expecting it to become a real modern deck again.

It was then also mentioned by Frank Lepore in one of his articles on TCG.
It's surprising how many "what the hell happened to the prices" I see on cards or decks he mentions in his articles.
These fluctuations happen all the time with fringe cards like this.

It top 8'd some big event within the last two weeks and everyone thinks it's janky enough to work. Don't remember which, but it was on camera somewhere. I'll look into it real quick.
