When to buy expedition lands?

I think it's a tough call. I see the potential on some of these cards to really go up. So is it better to start buying them in the first few weeks or after things start to stabilize? What does everyone think?

I'd say wait honestly. They're pretty damn high to start and I think they'll be a little more frequent than people would expect. You should be able to find some for cheaper a few weeks or even months after release.

I think as soon as you find them available for the main ones. (blue fetches, and maybe blue shocks)

On the others, wait.

They'll come out, likely drop a little bit, then stabilize. Finally, they'll start a slow climb. That's my prediction. I think, for the most part, they look pretty poor in comparison to their original counterparts. I think a large problem with these lands is that they don't have any of the flavor of their OG printings. Just my 2 cents.

I really like the new Misty Rainforest and I want to see what they're going to do with Verdant Catacombs.

I think history mostly supports TheDevicer's predictions. I wouldn't get them while they're buoyed with release hype -- these will always be big ticket items but even so, hype can pop their prices high above their average long term values. Wait a while and you will have the opportunity to grab them for better prices. Just be prepared for blue lands to be very expensive overall. I wouldn't be surprised if the Expedition Scalding Tarn and Misty Rainforest settle somewhere between $175 to $220.

You should immediately trade out of them on pre-release weekend and gameday, then pick them up once they drop to a more reasonable price. I wouldn't expect them to be incredibly too much while BFZ is still in print.

Yeah, that's definitely wise. If you pick one up at the prerelease weekend, it would be advisable to get as much money from hype as possible. That way, you can afford to acquire more once the prices settle. Though if I open a Misty Rainforest, I'm not sure I'd have the will to sell it.

By December/January (before Oath of the Gatewatch drops) bazillions of boxes would have been opened and prices will be lowest. Once Oath comes out everyone will be buying those boxes as well and not as much BFZ; and things may rise.

Depends on if Oath will have the expeditions as well. I can see wizards doing that.

That is cool. Where was it confirmed?

Around Christmas they will likely be lowest. You might even catch a holiday sale.
