So with the release of the new master set coming soon i'm curios when i should buy the cards i want. I dont really care about the full art card as i would rather just get the cards to put into my modern decks. Should i buy right when the set drops or should i wait a month for market to settle on a price. I don't want to miss out on 35 dollar snapcaster mages again!

refresh mtggoldfish constantly, if you see copies of cards you want at a price you think is good buy em, personally I plan on waiting for tcg player to put up a good cash back sale (I got some mana dorks, mono white lands, and a well accredited tutor with horns in mind) for my next card purchase.

Snappy will not be a 35 dollar card. This is a limited reprint run at a higher price point than other reprint runs. It is currently a 70 dollar card, so it will need to fall 50% to reach that.

Now, the last time that happened was when Jace was NOT in Modern and there was no tier 1 modern control deck. Now that there is, it is unlikely for Snappy to hit 35 bucks - if it ever reaches 50, get it.

Wait around a month after release then buy what you need...that's when the majority of packs will have been opened and the market adjusts.

As others suggest you will not see Snappy for $35 :( The SnapMeister should drop $10 - $15 so expect to pay around $55.

I'm going to buy a playset of Tarmogoyfs (with the old art) if they hit $60 each so I can finally play some Modern with the homies :D

You want to buy after the set is released and people are still drafting it. A lot of the time prices on Masters sets drop as people sell chase cards for immediate cash to buy more packs/draft. Prices go back up shortly afterward, so this window is tight.

@APPLE01DOJ: On the night of prerelease, I traded a Nykthos, Shrine to Nyx and some other chase rares out of Theros for a playset of Snapcaster Mages lol.
