Where do I sell a foil Tarmogoyf?

I just pulled a foil goyf and I don't know whether to sell it to my LGS for $220, or sell it on Ebay for possibly less (sellers fees) or a lot more.

Thoughts anyone?

As a side note at my LGS there is a judge foil Natural Order that I want to get with the profits.

You do realise your LSG is offering you about half its value?

Yes smackjack, but that is part of selling to to any store, they get the card and you get to support the local business while getting store credit to help them grow. On Ebay I may sell the card for $300 but I may have to pay between $30-$50 of sellers fees. so it may be a wash.

I would imagine TappedOut or something similar. Or you could wait until Ebay does another free selling thing

Sorry for the double post, but you could always trade it for its actual value, assuming someone has enough cards that you want

Yeah, but Im eyeing the judge foil and a foil onslaught Wooded Foothills that I know I probably wont be able to trade for in my area.

Currently I don't have anyone near me who I know that plays modern and has enough cards to trade, but good idea though.

Quite a dilemma you have, anyway. Best of luck, whatever you decide to do

There is a Facebook group for called High End Magic Cards. I would recommend seeing if anyone there is interested.

In my experiences, Ebay doesn't take 10% of your profits, I recently sold a playset of Flooded Strand for $55 on Ebay and after fees I recieved $53.10, which is like 3%. Foil Tarmogoyfs are selling for around $320 to $350 on Ebay, so you could most likely get at least $320 for it, subtracting worst case fees, 10%, you could make $288. If you would rather sell it to your shop to help them out, that's cool but i'm just pointing out that you could make more.

Cheapest foil tarmo in magiccardmarket is 295e ($323,6). It's a valid option too.

Can I even sell on that website even if I am in America Luutamo?

I've seen some seller outside of europe there so I think it should be possible. Not 100% sure though about america.

use pucatrade, you get full value and basically have access to any card you want (granted you have the points)

In the future.

Seriously, a high-end foil like this is worth waiting a while before trading away. Right now, the market is being flooded by Modern Masters. Unless you're strapped for cash so you could pay rent/tuition/medical bills, there really isn't a reason to dump a foil Tarmogoyf. That's especially when you consider you're looking at getting only $200~$300 for it.

So at that point can we expect the price of Goyf to go up like it did for the first MMA, then sell it then?

Pucatrade is awesome, but don't believe for a second you can get "any card you want if you have the points." Things like dual lands, force of will, and foil snapcasters are very tough as people don't ship them very often. Power 9 is only rarely shipped and there are tons of people with the points for it just sitting there waiting. Foil goyf is a great way to build a lot of decks though if you want to convert it into playable cards.

Right now, Im looking at selling it and getting a full set of Planechase 2012 and having ~$70 left over. I feel like the fun I'll have with Planechase is more than worth the $100 I didn't get from selling the goyf.

Thoughts?

My thoughts are: Is this a trade to the store and if so, what is the store actually giving you ($ value) vs what would you accept as a cash payment for it? I just recommend caution since it is probably one of the larger transactions you've likely had in the MTG world and I would hate if you made a rash decision and regretted it later.

You can actually get planechase cards on pucatrade :) you will have to be patient though. I actually just finished my archenemy set through puca

actiontech, currently I'm looking at $250 store credit from the store, and the planechase 2012 set of four is $180 which is the decks with the planechase cards, which isn't that bad I would think. That price is equivalent to the others I have seen. And its to Star City Games, which I have sold foil KTK fetches to and bought another box with it, so I like them. I would buy from my LGS but they don't have planechase boxes.

Are those prices good for a store?

That's not too bad really. TCG lowest NM price is about $300, which after fees and shipping would put you at about $260 net. You'll still have to pay to ship the card to SCG of course, but that shouldn't be more than about $6. So yeah, if you just want to unload it and get something fun go for it =) Just be really sure it doesn't have any marks on it at all. SCG is rather particular.
