Do you guys and gals see Snapcaster Mage increasing in the coming years? Right now we are in the flood of standard players selling them off, but does it see enough modern, legacy, and even vintage play to increase?

pick up as many copies as you can while they are cheap, or at buy one get one free sales. It will crawl in value, this is a unique card and it's power level and utility are absolutely unique. it will never be reprinted and it is just gonna go up. if you buy them at 20.00 a pop and sit on them for four years and they go up to 60.00 a head. You are making bank. Snaps is ONE just one powerful modern deck away from being expensive as hell. my opinion as an economics major and as a magic player. BUY BUY BUY (even steal some if you have to) BUY BUY BUY. get four for yourself and lock the others in a safety deposit box for a year or two

@SnowCoveredRevenge: I think you may be exaggerating Snapcaster Mage 's value a bit. Yes, it's a strong card. Yes, it will rise in price over time. But I don't think Snapcaster Mage will shoot up to triple its price in only two to four years.
Remember, Snapcaster Mage is a rare, not a mythic. It's already seeing heavy play in Modern and Legacy, and it already rotated out of Standard. The price has been stable at $20 for a while now, and I don't expect it to rise until next Modern season. I doubt it will shoot up, but it may rise to $30 (which was its Standard peak).

Personally, I say see Vendilion Clique for what can eventually be expected

Not in the timeframe specified, but over a longer period say... 5-6 years?

I agree without above comment. Snappy will see a reprint in a non-standard set; possibly even a FTV: too powerful to see standard play ever again edition. With foil alt art that makes you say "so much cooler!" (I'm looking at you Venser, Shaper Savant )

It is possible that the 2 cmc spot is a little stacked in the card pools snapcaster plays in and the casual market doesn't really want him so I could see his price taking a little while to break the $30 mark, but when it does it'll likely skyrocket with a short pause at $50. It's only too bad his package of instants/sorceries isn't going to grow too much, seeing as mtg is going in the direction of big, powerful creatures instead of spellslinging.

Now if they bring back threshold and have a good spell or two from that snapy's price will likely nearly double.

Snapcaster is currently a non-factor in modern, if that ever changes your going to see it triple overnight, look at Ajani Vengeant

@SnowCoveredRevenge: I don't know how you reach the conclusion that Snapcaster Mage is a nonfactor in Modern.

Snapcaster Mage is definitely a modern staple... not to mention a 3 of in the world championship deck..

He's sometimes seen in splinter twin lists that are more tempo/control oriented

In modern: UWR midrange/control, faeries, twin exarch, good stuff, scapeshift to name a few, and a pretty decent chunk of the competitive meta...Not to mention it also sees play in competitive legacy and even vintage

And he will continue to see play in these formats for a very, very long time. Nothing will ever be printed to provide the same ability as efficiently and this guy. He will slowly become less and less able to be found easily and his price will rise over time. He won't see triple digits like Tarmogoyf , but he will be a large shot to the wallet at some point in his career.
