Which Box = Best standard investment box?

I am saving up for a booster box. Looking for value, tradability, and solid, consistent investments along with decent cards. My choices are narrowed down to RTR, GTC, and Born of the Gods... Any suggestions?

Buying a box for standard =/= investment. It's fun as hell to open a ton of packs, but getting your value out of them is less likely than the alternative.

Ive actually had a lot of luck and made out ahead on every box Ive opened. Id say RTR still has the best value in it. Maybe DGM but more for RTR

It would have to be RTR. Shocklands, Sphinx's Revelation , Abrupt Decay , Deathrite Shaman (even though he is modern banned he is still played in legacy), Supreme Verdict , Loxodon Smiter , maybe Mizzium Mortars .

While it's never a good idea, RTR is best.

Shocks, rev, drs, Abrupt Decay , JAoT, and other strong rares like Loxodon Smiter

I would say theros or RTR.

BNG has awful value.

Also, as everyone else has said, opening boxes for value is usually a bad idea.

Well, since boxes for value is bad, what box is the best for playability and demand? As in, everybody wants Sylvan Caryatid even though they aren't worth much, and they are very playable.

What is the most strongest color in RTR (as a side note).... And for when does RTR rotate out? with m15? I think i am gonna do RTR for the casual play with friends.... maybe setup a draft with friends :)

RTR is still in high demand.

Standard rotates only once per year - with the release of the first set of the new block (which happens at the end of September or the beginning of October).

Best for RTR? Value wise: Blue and white.

Does Theros have high demand? I may be splitting a box with a friend or 2, and i may just wait until Journey into Nyx is released to buy one

Theros probably has a higher demand than any set in Standard that's not RTR at the moment.

I just split a Theros box with 3 other people earlier today. Totally worth it in my opinion.

If you're saving up your money, you should probably put it to better use. Even if you get some good standard cards in a box, the likelihood of getting more than a couple of long-term value cards is very low. You'll just be disappointed.

If you really want to open a box, you could go in with a few friends, buy a box together, and then draft it. Then spend the rest of your money on good investment cards.

As for the shocklands - some will always be worth more than others depending on the decks that are being played at any time. Right now they're bouncing around between $8 and $12. They'll go up and down, but will probably increase eventually.
