Which Theros block rare or mythic cards are at their peak?

Which theros block cards do you think are at their peak price?

I am wondering because I am considering selling the ones that are most likely to drop in price after they rotate out of standard.

Around the start of the new year is when THS block will peak, it should slowly decline after that. The Standard staples still have room to grow for now.

If you are looking to move cards before that pay attention to the Pro Tour this weekend. Sell into the hype it creates.

Brimaz, King of Oreskos is at $30, that's probably about its peak unless it sees a lot of play in the Pro Tour. Goblin Rabblemaster is in the same boat imo. Mantis Rider might still go up

I second the notion of Brimaz, King of Oreskos ...even then, I don't see him climbing too much higher than $30.

Goblin Rabblemaster is definitely at peak...maybe a few dollars more, but we won't see him at $25.

Mantis Rider ...what is it at now? It's good, but I didn't even know it was a thing. I se this card MAYBE making its way into Modern UWR tempo?

Keranos, God of Storms is borderline $20 now...he won't see that price after he rotates...I mean...does he see Eternal play?

Athreos, God of Passage is in the same boat as Keranos. Unless he sees Eternal play he has peaked.

Polukranos, World Eater is probably as high as he will go, too, though I doubt you will see a ton of value from unloading those.

I can't even think of what else is from those blocks that sees play right now...

Keranos, God of Storms sees sideboard play in standard, modern, and legacy.

If Jeskai burn remains a thing, Mantis Rider should hold value. It's essential in that deck, and the only real downward pressure right now is simply the amount of Khans that will be opened.

There's no way to know which Theros block cards have peaked. We have 3 more sets that will be released before Theros rotates out. Each one will have an effect on what cards see more or less play. It's easy to say a card like Brimaz, King of Oreskos has peaked at $30 dollars but I know lots of people have been testing it in mardu midrage decks. If those decks become extremely popular it's easy to see Brimaz rising above the $30 mark. He's a Mythic Rare from a set that was opened very little. That means if he grows even more in popularity there won't be enough supply for the demand. There's also the potential that Fate Reforged opens up new deck possibilities so cards that see little play during the first few months of Khans may end up seeing tons of play through the last 3 sets. Basically, unless you know every card in the next 3 sets coming out before Theros rotates and how each one will effect the meta game, there is no way to know for sure which cards have reached their peak potential or not. Anyone who tells you otherwise is just blowing smoke up your ass.

I was gonna say brimaz but yeah, less than first.

Goblin Rabblemaster is finding it's way into Modern, so don't expect him to drop any time soon.

How about Sarkhan, the Dragonspeaker ? Should I unload it?

Elspeth, Sun's Champion isn't likely to go up any more. Of course, she's also not too likely to lose much value after rotation...

The next month is a great time to unload all of the Khans chase rares (as a general rule, not necessarily for each specific card). Hype is up and most packs are still unopened, so quantities are low(ish)

TelleoStar actually quite the opposite. While it's almost a guarantee that she won't drop much if at all during her time in standard, Elspeth will drop like a rock after she rotates. As a six drop she sees very little to no play in non-rotating formats and barring any drastic unforeseen changes that's not likely to change. She'll have casual and EDH appeal but that won't be enough to justify her $30 price tag.

First, if you're paying 30$ for her, you're overpaying. Second, I'd expect her to stay somewhere in the 15-20 dollar range, which isn't much of a drop from her present 20-25 range.

He price on SCG is $30.... her median price on TCG is $27.77. So that $20-$25 range doesn't even exist. Once she's out of standard she'll see almost no play aside from EDH and casual games, there's no way that minimal use will justify a $15-$20 price tag. Also even if it did only drop down from it's current $30 price tag to $15, I'd say a 50% drop is quite significant, however it's going to be much greater than that.

TelleoStar, why will Elspeth, Sun's Champion retain value after rotation? Where is she used? I seriously have never seen this anywhere outside Standard. I must have missed something. :-(

She's going to plummet. Just look at Jace, Architect of Thought . His price may have been pushed down more severely by the duel deck, but I still see the two as analogous.
