Who Gets the Better Deal?

Players 1 and 2 are trading. Player 1 is trading his Dark Confidant . Player 2 is trading his 2x Stomping Ground (Guildpact), Karn Liberated , and Deathrite Shaman (the prices should be around the same, I think).
Who do you think is getting the better deal? Just wanted to hear your thoughts.

Player 2 has a slight lead, and might continue to have a lead in the future, as it's believable that Dark Confidant will appreciate at a faster rate than the average rate of the cards being traded for it.

Dark Confidant has been around long enough to reach a stable value, same with the Stomping Grounds.
However, Karn Liberated and Deathrite Shaman still have potential to fluctuate, probably Deathrite Shaman more so because it's popular in both Legacy and Modern.
I'm assuming Player 1 is trading his Dark Confidant for the other 4 cards. If so, I think he's coming out ahead by $5-10, and has made a better long-term investment.

Moved to Economics.
Purely in terms of monetary value, player 1 is winning by about $20.
That said, Dark Confidant is a more sought-after card. Some players kind of avoid original shocks in favor of the cheaper reprints. Deathrite Shaman , although a staple, is available in Standard (as are the shocks). Karn Liberated is used primarily in only one or two archetypes.

Dark Confidant : $65-$80, I know of at least two places around me selling them at $60.
Stomping Ground (gpt): $25 each (SCG pricing) $17 each (tcg mid pricing), Karn Liberated : $28, Deathrite Shaman : $20
Prices get weird when you look at old shocks because different places value them differently. Regardless, there's a difference in value of around $20 here. In my opinion, it will take some time, but the shocks and deathrites will start appreciating in value in a few years, while I think Bob has more or less hit his ceiling. In terms of tradability, it really depends on your local meta and how many people are going to want Bob vs the shocks.

In general, though, Bob can be better leveraged because it's an iconic card that may Modern players still need. It's hard to find, and it's worth a solid chunk of money. You can effectively use it to break into the $100+ family of cards (ABUR duals, other Legacy staples) that you might have a hard time getting with just Standard and Modern stuff.

True, but where I play Standard, there's not a soul who wants it. If I go to where I play Modern, it's an easier trade, but the pool of people who play Modern or an eternal format is much smaller (I've already run into this exact issue with my trading portfolio once).

Knew it was a bad idea to use Card Kingdom's pricing system. It's not as accurate (for lack of a better term) as SCG or TCGPlayer.
I wish my school would unblock those 2 sites so I could have checked for more accurate prices.
What I was thinking price-wise:
Dark Confidant : $75
Stomping Ground : $15 X 2 = $30
Karn Liberated : $30
Deathrite Shaman : $15

Part of the problem is you seem to be using Gatecrash prices for Stomping Ground . The Guildpact printing is usually between $20-25.

Card Kingdom has the Guildpact ones priced at $15.99 actually. Another reason Card Kingdom isn't as reliable.

Player 2 is coming out on top, but not by a whole lot. I don't really see any of these going up or down any time soon
