Why Did Doubling Season Suddenly Become More Expensive?

When checking card prices, today, I noticed that Doubling Season's price increased drastically, recently; it previously was between $50.00 and $60.00, but it now is between $70.00 and $80.00, so I am wondering why that happened.
Was this increase simply the result of high demand and low supply, or did WotC print a new card that has amazing strategy with it? What does everyone else say about this?
Like a bunch of cards and products it went up in price when people got their stimulus checks

Doubling Season ALWAYS climbs in value especially after 2-3 years without a reprint. It's a really good card to trade for when it is reprinted and drops down to $25ish.

DarkMagician, I last checked the price on the same day that I started this thread, which is what prompted me to start this thread.

Magic is getting more popular with each passing year, so there is ever increased demand for powerful cards. Doubling Season in particular is a good “my first expensive upgrade” purchase for a number of common starter decks, including super friends, +1+1 counters, and tokens. And, given how Wizards keeps printing commanders that benefit from Doubling Season, it’s hard to imagine it will lose popularity anytime soon.

Might I offer a suggestion?
Old Gnawbone running a +1/+1 counters matters deck.
Twice the P/T and twice the treasure.

Caerwyn, in that case, I hope that WotC reprints Doubling Season (and numerous other cards that very dearly need to be reprinted) sooner, rather than later.

DemonDragonJ I meant the last time you checked it before you noticed the increase. Obviously you didn't look at it twice in the same day and see a jump in price.

DarkMagician, I obviously did not see an increase price in the same day, so it likely had been a week or two since I had previously checked the price.

Most recently Chatterfang, Squirrel General could br the culprit. Otherwise the price for the card was around this price a couple years ago too i believe. Just one of those cards that dropped with a reprint (whenever that was) and steadily rerose.

My guess is that the supply from double masters dried up and any planeswalker/token/counter deck in edh wants this card at mid-high groups/tables. It wasn't player in any other format besides modern for a very small stint.
