So I'm foiling out my U/G modern infect deck and I'm down to pretty much just the lands, Blighted Agent s, and the SB. All the prices have bern reasonable until I got to the agents though. Can someone please explain why a common card that is used in a tier 3 fringe deck costs ~$20 foiled.

You can get them for <$15 easily, FYI. And Infect is a pretty popular deck actually, even if it's not quite tier 1.

To follow up, most foils are just that way; assuming it's a way to differentiate yourself, value goes up even on staple commons. Look at how horrible Ral Zarek is in formats. Only actually seeing him in brews, EDH, or Cubes, he still maintains a chunky $30 foil.

Any card that sees consistent play in any eternal format is going to cost a mint for a foil. Foiling out their Modern/Legacy decks is the final step for a lot of players, so the cards most likely to be in demand get a premium attached, as they are harder to find.

Foil Deceiver Exarch is around $15. Wish I had sold mine when it was ~30 a couple months ago.

Should feel bad for the people that do that with legacy, they now have the chance to get foil FOW (Force of Will ) they are about 100 non-foil, can only imagine the foil pricing especially since its only going to be available to the higher up judges that have certified another judge recently
Just checked on SCG, they have 1 in stock at 999.00. Who wants a playset haha

Foil Delver of Secrets Flip is getting up there too. I expect it to be similar to the foil Spell Pierce in a couple years.
