Why is Master of the Feast $60?

Hahahahah. Nah. It's only 60 cents.
A 5/5 flier for 3 mana is insane. But still, because of the drawback (see what I did there?), it's only worth pennies.
So what would it take for this card to actually become valuable?
How to make magic card better: Remove drawbacks on card. Seems like an easy solution to me. Becuase who doesn't love a 5/5 flier for 3 with no downsides.
But that's not the point here. Not every card has to be Tarmogoyf level good. a lot of magic cards, even at rare, need to only be ok. Otherwise the definition of a good card would change. Not every card can be amazing and I think people need to get over that.
But if the question is, "how do I make Master of the Feast good without trying to redesign the card?" then the answer I think is "Play Notion Thief next turn in response to the ability".

Or you could play it in a Nekusar, the Mindrazer style deck. Therefore turning the card's downside into a boon.

enpc: that line of play assume you already have 4 lands in play.

MegaMetagross: It's a purely hypothetical situation in a non-format specific deck. This could be vintage and you just windmill slammed a Mox Jet that same turn. Or you used a Simian Spirit Guide to get the extra mana. Or you you played Master of the Feast turn 4 with mana up for a Brainstorm/removal spell. The post was about making the card more playable, not semantics of exactly the turn order of play.

enpc: just makin sure you weren't thinking you could untap, land drop for turn, upkeep..

All good thoughts. Hey Catalog9000, lets see that decklist! I wonder if one day they'll make a one or two drop that pairs perfectly with this. Suddenly it's the hot card everyone wishes they got a set of.

maxon,
Maybe in a Grixis version of Owling mine, to help Fevered Visions along?
