I'm not an expert, obviously... but why is this card so expensive?

He's got some crazy utility too. You get a bear with flash and a Remand (minus the draw, I know) or Disperse tacked on.

Off topic, but how cool is the art for the M14 Disperse ? I'm going to get a foil one just to have.

Unforgivn_II I believe it's the same art as the Lorwyn/Morningtide one, but I could be wrong.

Eh, it's neat I guess. I prefer really distinct styles like Rebecca Guay, Terese Nielsen, Howard Lyon, and Raymond Swanland.

Oh really? I was going to say that it had that kind of flavor. I guess I only saw the SoM one.

In EDH throw him in an ETB deck and blink the hell out of him with Deadeye Navigator and the like. Good times had by all!

The reasons already stated, plus:
He's a mythic with few printings, based on a very popular character in the lore, and as a creature he has a unique ability.

EvenDryke I think you're thinking of Venser, The sojouner, Venser, Shaper Savant was printed before Mythic rarity was a thing.

He was probably going off the picture that shows up on mo since it shows the ftv20 version which printed it as mythic.

Indeed, that was my mistake. I assumed the original printing was also mythic.

He's one of the few ways to counter something that can't be countered. He's used a lot in EDH (great for putting opposing generals into the hand) as well as in some Modern UWx control/midrange decks.
