Will Commander 2013 stay at MSRP?

I'm looking to buy a Commander 2013 deck, and a week or two ago considered pre-ordering one at 28 bucks. Well, they're a bit more than that now.

My question is will most stores in real life still sell them at the $30 MSRP, or will it be more like $40 like online? I get that it varies by store, but I general (like big chains like Target).

Thanks for any insight!

Big chains like Target will always sell them at MSRP. The price is going to vary the most online and at local game stores.

Just realized I said "I general" instead of "in"

Excuse the typo.

Their value will continue to climb, especially once they go out of print. It wot be a drastic rise because most are low-powered lists. The Grixis deck will be the most valuable.

From the perspective not of an investor, but rather a player, am I better off waiting for the release and buying it from a store or ordering it online?

Whichever will be cheaper. Most stores will be selling the boxes for $30-40.

I'd buy it now because they definitely aren't going down in price.

I guess I'll ask my LGS of they'll be MSRP, and if not I'll find a Target or something lol.

I might buy a Grixis deck just to sell later. Baleful Strix and Sol Ring alone pay for it.

Shop around. My LGS has a deal where if you preorder all five they're only $25 per deck.

They'll be $30 at Target and WalMart, but they might sell quickly.

The Grixis deck has risen already, where I live to around $80.

@ChiefBell, did it rise at your LGS or at target/walmart?

Neither. I'm in the UK and I purchase from Magicmadhouse.co.uk . I'll check my LGS soon but most of the websites in the UK are following the trend and massively inflating prices.

The price won't rise at Target or Walmart. Those places will always sell them at MSRP.

The only time I saw Magic for higher than MSRP at WalMart was a couple of years ago when a local WalMart was selling packs of Onslaught for $7.99. And they sell for way more than that online.

(I bought every pack they had and didn't get a single fetch!)

80 is way too much. While the Strix and Sol Ring pay for the deck, the only other money card is Thraximundar , and he's only played in EDH (meaning youll have to search hard to find someone who needs him.)

SCG is taking preorders for Commander 2013 Sol Ring s at just $5. Baleful Strix is still fairly high at $15 though.

Actually, Unforgivn_II, True-Name Nemesis is the highest price card in the set at 40$

There are a few valuable cards that you can sell on ebay if nothing else

Oof. I was only going off of reprinted cards at the time. But I can see the merit in that being worth 40, its a great sword-carrier...
