Will Thoughtseize jump in price when BotG is released?

I've seen the price for Thoughtseize going up a bit, and was wondering if I should hold onto mine until BotG comes out. Thoughts?
TGCPlayer, Star City Gaming, and various other sites list it around 16 to 20...

Where are you seeing Thoughtseize at $25? The Theros version has a median of 16.66 and even SCG has them at $20. I'm guessing you're not talking about the Lorwyn versions because those are significantly more expensive.

In any case Theros is going to continue to be opened as people draft the block, so Thoughtseize increasing in price seems sort of doubtful.
(although I don't remember it ever being cheaper than $20 on SCG, but afaik there's no good way to check price histories for SCG)

@Turn_Soonest: Where do you see $20? I'm still seeing $16-17 TCG mid. That's exactly where it has been for while.
There's also no reason for it to jump when BNG is released. MBD is already a Tier 1 deck. Esper's pretty big, too.

Star City is where I look at prices. The shop I go to does there too.

scg DID have theros Thoughtseize up at $25 within the past couple of days, it may have dropped back to $20 but I personally saw it listed at the $25 that Turn_Soonest is talking about. Whenever a set is about to be released the market fluctuates as to what it thinks is about to be in demand, BoTG is coming out so retailers are prepping for it is all :)

@Turn_Soonest: That's part of the problem. Use TCGplayer. It gives you the average of most of the market, so it's a much better tool for judging price fluctuations.

Strange that they are back down to $20 so quick.
On Friday night, I opened one in a pack I received as a prize for Top 8 Modern at FNM. I checked the price and it was at $25.
The previous week I got passed one in a Draft, and checked the price. They were at $18.
I was a little shocked that they went up $7 in one week... but now I'm even more shocked that they went down $5 in 2 days.

@Rayenous: The market may have pissed itself a little when SCG hiked its price (as I assume it did; I think Thoughtseize used to be $18-20 there). Although it's somewhat unusual and more than a little disconcerting to see price fluctuation of that nature, it happens.

Everytime I have seen a monoblack devotion deck come in 2nd place or first, Thoughtseize has gone up, but when it is something else it drops down a few dollars (same with thassa in mono-blue) I also usually use SCG because the prices stay more stable than most other sites. A lot of trades I do and along with most people at my LGS because like I said, it is more stable than tcgplayer. And because it is easier to keep track of the prices.

Im willing to bet Thoughtseize will go up in price over time, but not for quite a while. Card is worth every penny IMO

I'm sure it will climb a bit once it's completely out of print and distribution again. However, Modern is likelier to make it jump than Standard. Modern staples experience periodic price spikes when the season draws near.

Yeah, I'm a modern player, I was just wondering because I was thinking about offing it.

Where are people seeing Thoughtseize go up? It has pretty much Plateau d at 16 after dropping for a while. Assuming we're talking about the Theros printing.
Theros is going to continue to be printed and opened as BNG goes on so it would be surprising if Thoughtseize went up any time soon.
That said I guess it could see a slight bump come modern PTQ season but I don't expect too much of a bump in price if any.
