my Scalding Tarn for nothing... because he was a new player and I thought I could help him out. I Didn't think at the time that Scalding Tarns would be worth what they are.

My worst trade was probably an Overgrown Tomb for Ral Zarek, but I wasn't using the Tom at the time, so I don't feel too bad.

My playset of Onslaught Polluted Deltas for 4 Wastelands and 2Wooded Foothills. About a year later, I was kicking myself and continued to do so until Khans came out with a reprint. Wasteland sat at $40 and Wooded Foothills at $20 for a very long time, with Polluted Delta at or above $100.

My full art Terminate for his Siege Rhino. This was during KTK when rhino was $6 and dominating modern, while the terminate was 2 bc tasigur hadn't made grixis a thing yet.

For some reason the pricing on the terminate is wrong. It's currently $14.

My three Snapcaster Mages for his Bayou was a bad trade for a while, but now it's pretty even again. I also gave a Jace, the Mind Sculptor for a Noble Hierarch before Noble was reprinted.

During a night of heavy drinking I traded my Forcefield for his 2x Exploration... the very next week Exploration was spoiled for Conspiracy :/

September 23, 2015 7:15 p.m.

I sold my Future Sight Goyf for $75 when I thought I was quitting Magic. When I got back into it a few years back, I saw the price and almost cried.

I also traded an original Urborg, Tomb of Yawgmoth before it was reprinted in anything for completely insignificant things.

At my second FNM (soon after M14 release), one of the veterans who was leaving Magic gave me a box of Modern/Eternal staples since I was new. Back then, I didn't recognize the value there, only that they weren't Standard legal. I can't remember the exact cards, but there were a couple Crucible of Worlds in there.

I knew the value because I offered the cards for someone's Garruk, Caller of Beasts, and was told that the cards were worth a lot more than that. I said that I probably wasn't going to use those cards because I only planned to play Standard and traded them for a then $20 card that's gone down to ~$5.

I regret that a lot, not only for the value- as I was walking away I realized the veteran had watched me trade his cards away.

I mean I've never really had a bad trade go in the other person's favor. Best trade I've had go in my favor was (when I was still a complete noob at Eternal card pricing) about $3 in commons/uncommons for a Gauntlet of Power. Still have it. The guy I got it from? Haven't seen him since. (This was back when the foil was about $50 according to my LGS owner, so it was even more of a hit than it would have been today.)

Two of my better trades recently was my Sheoldred, Whispering One (promo release) for his Ugin, the Spirit Dragon. And then my Pyromancer's Gauntlet for Archangel of Tithes. I feel like i came out on top that night

I traded away a Dack Fayden when he was $20. He doubled in price a couple weeks later.

It comes back around though. Someone traded me an Omniscience just a few weeks before Omni-Tell started doing really well in Legacy. It went from $15 to $35, and I made back my loss.

I absolutely love trading standard for modern.

1 Archangel of Thune 2 Gravecrawler 1 Keranos, God of Storms 1 Laboratory Maniac 1 Nylea, God of the Hunt 1 Restoration Angel 1 Scavenging Ooze

Got this for 3 Stormbreath Dragons. I'll speak for this guy when I say that this trade is now entirely one sided.

My worst trade ever was when I was new, I traded an Elspeth Tirel, Ajani Goldmane, and Sorin Markov for 3 Gravetiller Wurm that I wanted for my Morbid deck. I didn't know how to use a planeswalker at the time....

I don't remember details, but I know I traded some cards that have kept value into a pair of Leyline of Sanctity when they were 34 dollars. I think it included some shocks (that I now need for my burn deck).

I did the same with Ulamog, the Infinite Gyre, but I felt less bad because It was a while before the price went down. I think that one included a Thoughtseize + when thoughtseize was at a lower price.

I'd like to point out that I don't actually feel bad having done this, because I've played with the cards I traded for significantly, and playing magic is more important than having expensive magic cards.

(oh I also traded away a Noble Hierarch for like bulk rares before I checked cards prices, so that was bad)

Ages ago, I got a Force of Will in an Alliances booster, and trade it for a bunch of green creatures. I didn't know much about MTG, and used to hate blue cards, so it looked like a good deal at the time. -__-''

My one sided trade:

Traded my Naya Blitz (INN/RTR time, after gatecrash was released) for a foil Deathrite Shaman before it was banned. Few days later, I flipped the shaman for a playset of Cavern of Souls

My worse trade:

Traded two Snapcaster Mage for the Naya Blitz deck above. The trade at the time didnt look bad until now -.-

Do bad sales count? I once bought a $1 pack at Target that had a Cavern of Souls in it. I sold it to my LGS a few weeks later for like $10. I thought at the time that was a nice profit... :(
