I see lots of repacks on ebay, and lots of people actually buy them. what do you guys think about it? im looking at getting rid of all the cards I don't use any more, and I want to get some money out of them. I have plenty of money rares to give away with the repacks, but what do you guys think?

No, just no.

Repacks will advertise staples (dual lands, Force of Will , Tarmogoyf , Karakas , Fetch Lands, Dark Confidant , Jace, the Mind Sculptor , ect.) and give you mostly crap. Maybe something slightly usable, but never any money cards included.

Totally didn't read your post all the way through before I posted that, and can't find a way to delete my comment...

If you wanna sell them, I guess Repacks or Bulk Sales would be the way to go

From my own experience, repacks are a good way to make money, not terrible at expanding your collection, but an absolutely terrible way to get any value whatsoever.

im not going to advertise anything crazy like that. most of my money cards are things like Garruk, Caller of Beasts , Elspeth, Sun's Champion , Desecration Demon and stuff like that. im definatelt not gonna charge $10 for a repack. I think that sort of thing is ridiculous.

The TappedOut forum is for site-related questions and posts. Moved to Economics.

You could certainly try selling repacks, but make sure you price everything out and keep track of how much you need to sell to recoup an acceptable amount of money.

You also need to monitor your feedback. Selling repacks is dangerous because people who lose money on them can sometimes be bitter about it. Put a disclaimer up and try to weight larger orders so there's at least one value card.

One of my friends sells repacks, and he charges $5 for 10 rares, with a 1 in 10 chance of pulling a Planeswalker. Since the lowest price rares usually get to is 50 cents (barring older cards and really really shitty cards- like Trait Doctoring shitty), technically none of his customers are losing money.

And for some reason my notifications say Epochalyptik mentioned me on here... Weird.

I would never buy them but then again aside from modern masters I don't buy packs anymore. Id rather buy the card I need rather then ripping open 10 packs trying to get it. I had about 300 50 cent rares i wasn't using and sold them to a friend of mine for 30$

repacks are people putting cards in a sleeve (usually all rares, some do rares+uncommons+commons) and selling them for a few dollars, varies on the price. They advertise made x amount of repacks, one of them has an "expensive card" (usually the rare ones do this and sell them for 8-10$ each), the uncommon/common repacks are 99 cent. They aren't set orientated and just random cards from all of magic's history. t's a way for people to move their bulk crap nobody wants..
