Wurmcoil Engine and Birthing Pod prices

Having been away at college and not involved much in the economics of my collection, I realized that my promo Wurmcoil Engine s and Birthing Pod s have raised in price 2.5x and 3x since obtaining them, respectively.
I don't have any connection with them, so would it be worth it to trade them now for more stable-valued cards? I should probably go through and see what else has risen in price since modern season started..
I would (am, I think), especially if you're not playing those decks. I think they are due for a reprint in the next MM set. But I'm trading mine only for cards that I will play, but at the moment my needs are only in fetches and abur duals, I have everything else for the decks I need. Though, I'm considering holding on to my pod's due to having the deck already (minus one hierarch) and they are signed.

I love the Engines, but I don't play them in any deck (unless I throw them in an EDH deck, that can't really go wrong...). I have no desire to keep the pod so I may try to get rid of that... Thanks for the insight!

If you want max value for any modern staples (especially Birthing Pod ) you should look to trade/sell in June. That will be the peak of the modern hype as the PTQ season will be getting into gear. If you just want some cash or trade now then by all means take your profit =)

If you think I can wait until June I'm going to do that. I'm only on break for a few more days and won't have my collection with me until the summer comes around.

I had a foil Wurmcoil as well as a promo (got each for like $15 years ago) that I traded with some other stuff for a playset of Voice of Resurgence back when Dragon's Maze first dropped. Kind of regretting it.

I personally am amazed that birthing pod took so long to go up in price like it did. It's one of the core staples of modern, and has been so for quite a while now, even before the spike.
My biggest fear right now is of it getting banned.

Birthing pod has been doing well recently and the price of a lot of modern cards has risen massively. We're talking in the region of doubling or tripling. It's the opinion of a fair few people that demand can't support this inflation and therefore many players are predicting a fall in price and then, after that a very slow increase over time. Try and trade pod now - everyone's hyped about it.
I can't comment on Wurmcoil Engine , except to say that it's a fantastic card.
