So I have considered getting some custom sleeves in the future when I get some extra money and wondered if anyone uses an outer sleeve on their sleeves and just wanted to know how they shuffled. Does it make the deck too big for a 60 card deck and do they shuffle somewhat smoothly? Thanks
No actually I should have worded this better i am actually talking about sleeve protectors when people get custom sleeves they tend to use sleeves that go on top of the outter sleeve. Thanks for the in depth explanation of double sleeving though

I don't think I've ever seen anyone use sleeves ontop of their custom sleeves, but that might just be me. :3

Oh well they exist FemmeFatale was considering making some TappedOut custom sleeves and had a whole conversation about getting these sleeve protectors to protect the rather shotty quality of the sleeves themselves but I wanted to see if I could get some insight from someone who has actually used them before. What brought it up was I was watching a guy on the Hareryua japanese stream and he was using them on the modern masters event deck foily sleeves and he just seemed like he had a hard time shuffling it may have been triple sleeved though double sleeved and then sleeve protectors

I personally dislike shuffling outer sleeves. It makes it a lot harder to do a proper side shuffle, the guy I know who uses them has to riffle his cards to get them to weave nicely. The cards become a lot rougher, so it's harder to slide them together.
However, deck size isn't a huge issue. It's basically the same size as a double sleeved deck.

I guess you learn something new everyday, but I've literally never heard of anything like this. I guess I have some googling to do.

All custom sleeves need to be used with sleeve protectors in order to protect the art. Inked Playmats sells all their products with custom sleeves in order to protect them. Shuffle feel is less than ideal due to all transparent sleeves being in glossy and not matte.

Devilsmage has some amazing sleeves, and I think he uses the sleeve protectors for them.

Here is a couple pictures of them. I have three decks that use custom sleeves, this is just one set of pics i had on hand.

I did destructive testing on these sleeves themselves...they handle a LOT of stress..but they were rather expensive. I have ultra pro over sleeves to protect them and last forever.

So what you're asking is (Im guessing) double-sleeving and how people shuffle doing so.
It's actually quite simple. When you double-sleeve, you don't put a sleeve on the outside of your normal sleeve, but you put a card-protecter sleeve on the card. These are the see-through sleeves that fit just around the card. These have smaller proportions (like 2 mm smaller) and as so can fit inside normal sleeves. It does add a little to the width of the card, but it's not extreme.
As long as your outer sleeve are worth a damn, it shouldn't affect the way you shuffle your cards that much. I would however discourage doing so if you have small hands as it can be a little too much. If you can shuffle 75 normal-sleeved cards however, there should be no problems.
