Hi all! I'm buying a new playmat but can't decide on an art/artist! Just wanted some second opinions!
The one I already have is a Lord of the Rings piece by Greg and Tim Hildebrant:
I really like the Hildebrant brothers so I'm considering:

and
I'm also considering some Trina Schart Hyman art from the book Saint George and the Dragon, a childhood favorite:
Minor problem with these is that they're more or less square so cropping for a playmat might be an issue.
Which one(s) stand out to you all? Which do you like?

Definitely the "Fellowship" one, if that's all the options.
I have a couple of Deadpool ones that are pretty plain but awesome, so I get your "not too busy" bias.

I think since you already own the first one the second pic is a great alternative. I like that they are similar enough they could be switched between sort of like having a night/day of the same landscape. As an example, if playing Rakdos the first one is great but if playing Selesnya the second is perfect. I also like the idea of having a landscape over character illustrations because while playing you aren't necessarily covering the focus of the art.

Thanks for the input everyone!
The Saint George pieces by Hyman are all out... the sizing looks weird. Maybe for a mouse pad someday...
dlamars I think you hit the nail on the head! The Helm's Deep art was my #1 choice before but your points seal the deal!
Thanks again

Gimme more of that Dragon gushing blood from his tail-stump.

Yeah it was a tough choice haha
If the Saint George arts didn't have those red bars they'd work, but with them the cropping looks to wonky :(
But I'm thinking about collecting playmats so I may get all of these eventually haha

The one with the castle is pretty cool for a playmat. My personal preference is to have one that has a nice picture but isnt so busy that it pulls focus away from the cards being played.
