Sleeving my deck

If I'm sleeving a Modern deck and I'm mixing single- and double-sleeving certain cards with the Ultra-pro perfect fit sleeves, can I be disqualified from a match, or the deck simply deemed illegal? I've got a mix of penny and high-price cards. While I don't want to discriminate and mix the sleeving, I would like to protect my expensive cards from routine play.
yeah you can get caught like that in a higher level tournament and get some kind of DQ or loss so just double sleeve the whole thing

This can result in a game loss at best or DQ at worst in competitive play during deck check,

Right now the deck is under daily (re)construction, so I'm hesitant to double-sleeving for the extra hassle... but I suppose I oughta just do it and keep those Gladecover Scout , as well as Daybreak Coronet , in Near-mint condition!

Just double-sleeve all of them dude. Why are you so hesitant to do so? If we're talking extra work then quit being so lazy :P

L2 judge here. At a SCG Open one time, a player called me over when he noticed his opponent had only part of his deck double sleeved. Because the distribution was random, and we determined that the deck was borrowed and therefore it wasn't his fault, we gave him a warning for Marked Cards. Under different circumstances, this could easily have been a game loss for Marked Cards or a DQ for cheating (with a likely ban). Please don't do this. At best, you'll get a warning and take 10+ min away from the tournament. At worst, you get a DQ and ban, because you were too lazy and/or cheap to double sleeve your whole deck. So moral of the story is, just sleeve your whole deck the same. It's not that much work to double sleeve.

Moral of the story: being cheap and/or lazy has no rewards :P

Well, the easiest thing to do in order to prevent any misunderstandings is to double sleeve all your cards...
