A carcass crewing a vehicle...

Am i the only one that finds it infuriating to be dealt 4 damage by a vehicle crewed by a carcass? Example... A Solemn Recruit enters the battlefield and i play a Shock in response the opponent taps the Solemn Recruit to crew an Untethered Express. Okay so tapping to crew in a response is fine; however, that vehicle should have no way to be controlled by a lifeless carcass. The vehicle should automatically tap in my opinion... I (which i assume most of us do) actually see the battle in my head when i play. So all i see is a lifeless carcass in the driver seat incredibly operating and maning a vehicle. I find this cheap, garbage, and broken.
Continuing off the idea that there is a corpse foot stuck on the gas pedal... At the beginning of combat, if there are no crew members alive, this creature has to attack and the opponent must be chosen at random.

There's a format vaguely defined as 'kangaroo court' that I recall some memories of from an InQuest magazine article of years ago, where play is meant to argue the logic of every interaction of a match (preferably multiplayer). So in addition to trying to win, you have to create reasonable justifications for every play and every card, which is also further amplified when you start referencing the artwork of your cards to support your arguments.

If you look at it as a 100% true-to-life metaphor, a lot of things about the Crew mechanic begin to break down.

I was just talking about this earlier today. It makes no sense that a creature gets tapped to 'crew' something, then that creature dies at instant speed before damage, yet still is piloting a vehicle. Its like if you got in your car, turned the ignition to start your car, then you get shot in the face and die. While youre dead in the front seat, you drive your car home. Magic logic lol

Yup, Kangaroo Court. It's a fun format. I hope to someday play it in a multiplayer setting.

Also, for reference, here is a really good reddit thread discussing this format and its origins: Kangaroo Court
And you thought I was only joking...

Flying no because flying can be given to a creature through an enchantment and if you're refering to something that has flying itself maybe it's a vampire I've seen witches fly I've seen wizards fly in a game of fantasy anything can have flying, and before anyone says exactly about crewing a vehicle dead being fantasy, when you kill a creature with flying it dies it doesn't keep flying. When something is dead it is dead in the game other than zombies or regenerated creatures. It's stupid ORRRRRRRR if the creature crewing the vehicle dies before combat said vehicle should get a -1/-1 counter on it each time it turns into a creature for each time it was "crewed by a corpse with it's foot on the pedal because said vehicle kept going and smashed into a wall."

Think of it this way, the Solemn Recruit gets in the driver's seat and gets the Untethered Express going, then gets hit by the Shock and dies. The Express is still going, as the corpse of the Recruit has still got their foot on the gas.
