Community Set: Step Back

General forum

I feel foolish posting the SEVENTH thread about the communal set. Really, everyone please take a step back. Everyone realizes that this needs to be done. It seems to be what most of the arguments are: that we need to go back to square one (or two) and work within more narrow and controlled boundaries. But, to reiterate, we have SIX other threads saying what need to be done first. These are squares 1a, 1b, 1c, 1d, 1e, and 1f. I don't want to point fingers because that's just pointless (hah), and because I understand how enthusiastic everybody is. But to those who are facilitating this, I urge you to work on one thing at a time. If necessary, delete all the other stuff (including this). I just want to see this work, and to me, the best way to do that is calm down, step back, and take your time figuring out how to make this work. I'm willing to wait in order to make this happen. Can everyone?

Please post in some way, shape or form an affirmative if you agree with me. I don't want suggestions or ideas; just a simple agreement and commitment to back off a little

Your friend,

BS

If i had the power I would. I know exactly what you are saying and if you check my posts its exactly what i've been saying since square one, back at Caley's blue card ideas.

I would tend to agree that there are too many topics on this board, i don't know if it makes sense to delete them all or consolidate them all, but some house keeping is in order.

I suggest 3 topics. 1. for keywords 1. for story, and 1. for overarching structure.

Key words and story seem to be the basis upon which everything else seems to flow, and the best consensous starting point on the creative side of things. There is a bit of a chicken and egg problem with this as the story should incorporate abilities and abilities should fit with the story... so i don't see this being easily resolved and thus 2 separate areas to discuss these unless a vote is had to do 1 first.

Next i suggest that the broader design aspect of the set also needs to be laid out, here i am talking about overarching design details like the ones listed in xanders posts about the skeleton and the size and ratio of the set. These are pieces that are mostly story and ability independent, at least up to a certain point. Obviously a broader outline can be laid out as to the basic(for lack of a better word i am going to call it MetaStructure )MetaStructure of the set, which will ultimately be further and further fleshed out as we progress in our development of the set, but it seems like laying the foundation makes a lot of sense and we can always slightly alter the foundation if necessary after the story and keywords have been set.

Storyline comes first same as the egg. As many story writers will deny and all data heads know the general story has little to no overeall effect upon the general mechanics of the (in this case) set.

@I_Call_BS:

Things have been set into motion to try and do this in an organized fashion. Structure is being setup and we'll keep the community updates once we start to get a definitive game plan.

@DeckBuilder345:

Something similar to your suggestion is part of said structure.

Hey Guys,

The title says it all. I pulled an Elspeth Sun's Champion and am willing to trade it off. I am looking for 4x Watery Grave, 1x Mutavault, 4x Woodland cemetery, 3x Dragon Skull Summit. maybe even a Blood Crypt.

Thanks

Aaron

I have a lot of those. I have one Watery grave ($10.50), 4x Woodland cemetery ($3.60 each = $14.40), and 3x Dragonskull summit ($2 each = $6). If your binder wants list is still accurate (it seems a little out of date, but I might as well try), I have a Chandra's phoenix ($5), and that gets me to about $36 dollars of value. And of course, I'd like the Elspeth.
