Continuity Easter Eggs

The purpose of this post is to list continuity easter eggs people of found. Confused what a continuity easter egg is (because I made up the term), I'm referring things like Windrider Eel and cliffhaven-knight. Like Spinerock Knoll and Knollspine Dragon . Has anyone else noticed these? If so list.

yeah maybe im dumb but i still dont get it...how are these cards connected?
September 29, 2010 11:21 a.m.
The only connection I see is that it looks like Knight of Cliffhaven is riding Windrider Eel , but I don't see anything for Spinerock Knoll and Knollspine Dragon except maybe the dragon is on the Spinerock Knoll but you can hardly tell.
As for Merfolk Observer and renegade-doppleganger I see no connection.
September 29, 2010 3:53 p.m.
The shape of spinerock knoll is the dragon, on the right side of the card you see its face sleeping with a claw under it, and knight of cliffhaven is riding a windrider eel
September 29, 2010 4 p.m.
In the background of the art of merfolk observer there is a renegade doppleganger
September 29, 2010 4:01 p.m.
I'm guessing he means that the image on one card references another card from the same (or different, I suppose) set.
September 29, 2010 7:34 p.m.
Yeah, I'm referring to the artworks of sets and how within the block they reference each other. I think this is for flavourful purposes for the observant but it would be great to see if others like drizzy found any of these.

Very cool idea. It would be fun to compile a list of these.

Omggg~~ Thanks for sharing! I love easter eggs~~ The only one I know is AWOL and urza's-hot-tub~
September 29, 2010 11:37 p.m.
Didn't the figures from Time Walk appear in a later card?
September 30, 2010 1:56 a.m.
Cudgel Troll and Borderland Ranger are panoramic. Also Borderland Ranger appears in card:Dryad's Favor.

uktabi-orangutang + Uktabi Kong + Gorilla Titan
Casting cost, art work, text, abilities, flavor text...all in one neat package
September 30, 2010 6:56 p.m.
@Wilshire3030, I don't know if those could really be counted, I mean they aren't all the same ape, just the same creature type. It'd be like classifying all goblin cards as easter eggs, or all faeries, or all elves and so on.
September 30, 2010 7:08 p.m.
I agree with Zylo. Uktabi Kong is just an unhinged parody of the cRD Uktabi Orangutan and Gorilla Titan is just something completely different.
September 30, 2010 7:18 p.m.
They go together because Gorilla Titan and Uktabi Kong have flavour text that means the same thing... Nice find Wilshire3030~
September 30, 2010 8:04 p.m.
Oh, okay, I didn't think we were including the flavor text. If you count that I know of a lot more haha. I thought this was solely for the artwork.
September 30, 2010 8:08 p.m.
It was originally solely on the artwork but this is a forum post so flavour text it is.

Emrakul, the Aeons Torn and Eldrazi Conscription work, I believe?
September 30, 2010 8:58 p.m.
Yes, s_bishop88 that works although that's sort of an easy find. If you think about it, you could list the many planeswalkers appearing in other cards like Liliana Vess and card:Liliana's Caress although that kind of puts the fun out of it.

@necrobane about bishop finds...the cards he pointed out are the exact same thing as what u did sir!!?? He found one creature in the background of another card...thats all, everyone knows Jace appears on card:Jace's Erasure lilly on card:Liliana's Caress etc... but his finds arent like that tho. Caress, Erasure etc, are cards for those planeswalkers, your right i dont think they are easter eggs, but any time another creature is in the background of a non-combo pair, i think they should count, just cuz you dont need a magnifying glass to see it shouldnt change the fact that it is there lol. +1/+1 for you bishop! Necrobane...we still love you, not trying to argue my brother, just stating my opinion...:)

p.s. @ necrobane...i love this kind of stuff and thank you for starting this!! ima hunt some more of these down!
October 2, 2010 9:43 a.m.
@WiseHeart65, Actually I'm with NecroBane on this one. How is it what he did? But also the point he's making is that Eldrazi Conscription is in direct relation to Emrakul, the Aeons Torn . It's meant to make any ordinary creature like that of an Eldrazi and so they pretty much do go together almost as much as Jace + Erasure if not exactly as much.
Now your find of Emrakul, the Aeons Torn on Gravitational Shift is neat because they are not in direct relation even though you can tell it's Emrakul, the Aeons Torn on Gravitational Shift beter because it's got him in color.
The point is that it's not THAT awesome of a find if it's obvious or makes sense for one picture to be in another.

i hear you Zylo...i just didnt think we should disclude someone with a valid effort! i guess what i meant was that the planeswalker cards Erasure and Caress for example have direct synergy with those walkers AND has their picture on em. Emrakul appears on Conscription but has no synergy with it! and to tell the truth, as far as the hidden thing goes, i saw emrakul on grav shift imediatly, but never noticed it on the conscription card! i just dont think it "makes sense" to have emrakul on the conscription card because the dont directly work together, if both cards were in a deck, you would hope to get one or the other hopefully would equal win, but should never need to use them together! Agree with that at all or make sense, again im not trying to argue with anyone, its fun to talk about...

How about the ENTIRE Timespiral set? Just one more reason why Timepiral is the best set ever created ever. Haha
October 2, 2010 10:37 a.m.
Oh, I know. I'm not trying to discredit bishop's find, I was just agreeing with NecroBane that it was sort of an easy find.
I know they don't have the synergy that the planeswalkers and their cards do, but I was getting that they ARE in direct relation because conscription is meant to buff a creature up to the power of an eldrazi, so naturally there would be an eldrazi in the picture for it, they just happened to choose Emrakul, the Aeons Torn .
October 2, 2010 10:38 a.m.
Thanks Zylo that's what I was trying to bring across. No disrespect s_bishop88.

Kjeldoran War Cry has Darien, King of Kjeldor in the background
it looks like Kabira Vindicator is riding a Totem-Guide Hartebeest
this one is kinda a long shot but it looks like some one gotta promotion Kjeldoran Elite Guard is now Cloud Crusader
November 15, 2010 10:37 p.m.
I would think Kabira Vindicator was riding a Felidar Sovereign but that Cloud Crusader find was awesome!
