Decks you want to play but dont:Why? (Besides $$$)

Are the any Deck types out there that you have always wanted to play but you've decided not to?what was the reason you decided not to play that deck? Besides Financial Reasons.
- I will start out... Polymorph/Through the Breach combo decks.
I Mainly play Modern format (but fairly causually) with friends. After building lots of decks I went into a phase where I made a couple "Instant win combo" decks... One that stands out in memory was with Altar of the Brood + Liquimetal Coating + Saheeli Rai (Instant mill combo with the -2 ability) that basically abused transmute/tutor effects to assemble the combo as fast as possible. Although it was fun to win with at first/for a little while; it got stale for me pretty fast whether I won or lost because of the lack of interaction with the opponent.
I have seen a few variations of Polymorph/Through the Breach decks that have honestly looked pretty fun and seemingly interactive though... but I kinda feel that its a trap; and getting the T4 Emrakul, the Aeons Torn or similar would also kinda lose its appeal more quickly than Other "more conventional" deck types where you actually establish and bolster a board presence over the course of a game to achieve the win.
No hard feelings to Combo players out there; this is just my example for a deck the I have had interest in playing (on more than one occasion too) but "Talked myself off the ledge" before following through with building it.
Does anyone else feel the same way about what I've said and or have thoughts and feelings towards another deck type that they wish to share?
I had a very competitive Narset, Enlightened Master edh deck for a while. I'd either be up against seemingly unending counter-magic or sac/destroy effects and never do anything, or the deck would go off and take all the turns or infinite combat phases. Basically either I won immediately or lost immediately. It wasn't very fun for friends and ultimately myself. I took it apart to build a more fun-based four color deck
The build that I have probably 90% finished but can't seem to finalize is Nath of the Gilt-Leaf. Same thing; I imagine it won't be very fun for friends. People don't like discarding their hands to death lol

For me its lantern control. I like to think and contemplate what my opponents response is going to be when I set out my game plan and make my moves. Lantern control, however, takes that concept to imcredibly new and difficult heights. You have to know more about the decks youre facing than you do about your own deck. It just seems too difficult to pilot and it seems very long winded and i think more games will come down to turns and then draw, rather than just win.

@greyninja: I noticed when KTK came out suddenly Narset was EVERYWHERE on this sight lol. I have a personnel fondness for blacks tendency for discarding cards as well as all the great things green as to offer in general (most versatile color after white IMO)... is Necrogen Mists in that build in process?
@Bulldawg1310 yup i know exactly where your coming from with lantern control... saw somones primer about how to build and pilot that kind of deck on here awhile ago....its utterly insane...truly diabolical deck theory but indeed you would need to be extremely knowledgeable of your opponents decks to successfully pilot it... as well as the OPPOSITE issue of immediate winning... nevertheless I very much see that appeal.

I'd honestly like to have the money to just finish all my decks.I got the plan finished for most, just no cash for the cards.

Mill. I'd like to make a mill deck, but everyone in my playgroup has one, so I'd be the copycat.

I've always considered playing modern elves though I have yet to bite the bullet so to speak for a variety of factors.
First there is a strong contingent of legacy elves players in my area, and because of this my making th modern version always at some point feels redundant as they show me the ridiculous things the legacy deck can do.
Second there is the playstyle of the deck, ive always been attracted to it because it is so different from any of the other decks I play, those being U/B Taking Turns, Lantern Control, and Amulet Titan, I like the idea behind the deck its explosiveness but it is not a deck that I have complete confidence in my ability to pilot.
Thirdly, I've never been one for creatures, i like finding other ways to win, elves offers a different approach in a way I find very fun but is still a creature deck.

Affinity (modern): I have this proxied up and enjoy using it on occasion, but I prefer the longer game so after 2-3 games with it I'm bored... until next time I get the itch!
Jund (modern): again have this proxied for testing, but I always miss having access to white spells like Path to Exile. As much fun as it is, I always end up wanting to go back to my Jeskai.
Kaalia (EDH): I'm s.l.o.w.l.y. working on making this, but the glass-canon nature of her in my local meta often doesn't work so well, and I'd rather have a deck that wins at least 1-2 times a night than one that explodes ridiculuosly once every fortnight but gets crushed the rest of the time.

There are tons of really cool super-high level EDH deck I'd love to run in my group (doomsday variants, etc.) that I can't play because they line up poorly vs what my group is doing in the sense that they win too fast or don't have enough points of interaction. My group is fairly competitive, but not to an endless degree, so I have to drop some stuff.

Kaho, Minamo Historian and Naban, Dean of Iteration EDH decks. It is a Format I am too unfamilliar with. But generally most of my decks in Standard or Modern try to accomplish what both of those two cards can do naturally. EDH is just a way of keeping them on the battlefield.
