Hey t/o~ <3 It's a bit personal, but I was wondering how much people spend on MTG monthly and/or yearly? I feel like I'm in a vicious cycle where I'm working to afford rent, school and MTG! Hahaha I don't want to feel alone so I thought I would ask :3~
My spending usually consists of a new box (or three) as soon as a set is released, pre-release and releases (I have to go to them), random packs every few weeks, eBay for more cards, and random card sleeves etc as I need them. I guess it's not too bad?

Yeah, same though I am only a student: I usually go to the prerelease for each set, and the split a box among 5 friends. Then I tend to order singles with my friends whenever I want 2 make a new deck or get odds and ends for other decks. I play casual multiplayer or edh, though so its not terrible expensive. I generally get the Duel Decks, and other special precons, like Planechase. I guess I spend like 350 a year, though that's a rough estimate.

Ahhh okay~ I feel less like I'm going crazy now! I usually justify my MTG purchases every time by telling myself if I was a smoker I would be spending it on cigs and cards can't kill you haha. It also doens't help that my shop is so close to my house :)~*

I'm a odd fit on this site but I hadn't bought any until a week ago. I bought my pauper deck for $10 (overpriced but i didn't really care). Then I went to a draft yesterday and spent $15. However, I'm now ahead by $25 as I won the draft and picked up Gideon Jura . I'll be figuring out how to sell that soon.

I used to spend hundreds, if not thousands of dollars on cards in a year. I realized I had a problem when I supplemented that by stealing more packs from Wal-Mart. Since then, I refuse to spend money on cards or own any cards- I have friends who are interested in obtaining more cards pay for me to enter drafts, and I give them my draft deck and my prize packs (unless I open a $50 card, in which case I sell that). I've found it's the only way I can ensure I won't bankrupt myself =)

I draft every few weeks with friends. That's about it. I don't really build decks anymore... no time. Thank T/O for that.

I spend around $20 - 30 a month on cards - sometimes buying a deck's worth of cards, sometimes buying a few singles.
I did run into a guy at my local card shop bragging that he'd spent $14,000 on MtG since the start of '09. For his sake, I hope he was exaggerating, haha.

I spend about 20euros a months on boosters and sometimes singles

@ThaXecutioner $14,000?! What is he buying magic lots with Zodiac Dragon s in them or something? Tell him to send me a Black Lotus hahah.

Yeah, $14,000 - I had to get him to say that like five times to make sure my hearing wasn't going, or something. The bad part is that he tagged on the "since 2009" part, so who knows how much money he's dropped since he started playing. He was going on and on about having 50+ fat packs at home he's barely touched, and even popped open his backpack full of Gideon Jura s and what not while I'm standing there waiting to buy a measly booster pack >_< haha.
Regardless, I still went 5-0 against him when he challenged me with his super expensive Elf deck by using my Doesn't Matter If You're Black or White deck (harmless self-promotion for my deck ;) ) and popping out Magus of the Moat to stop his 40+ Elves each game :) I wanted to say something witty like "Seems like that was money well spent" or whatever, but I was nice and he ended up buying me 5 boosters for my efforts.

I've spent around 8000 in the last 7 months. I play EDH and that's a crazy expensive format.

Honestly, I wouldn't mind a glance at the deck to see if there are any suggestions from y'all, but right now I'm asking for help when it comes to tactics (which also might require a glance at the deck)
Some of my biggest concerns are things like;
When should I play Bitterblossom ? As soon as I can to create plenty of guys? Or Mid-Late Game when I can hold up the mana to counter something or drop a Scion of Oona in response to removal?
What're the biggest threats to this deck, and what should I side against it?
Should I board in more removal, or a board wipe? Such as Damnation
And finally, are there any tips/tricks that you could point out, that you think might be overlooked at first?

One clever thing someone did to me online once was to Spellstutter Sprite my Remand . I told him it was only one faerie but then he pointed to his Mutavault he activated before casting. So keep open mana to activate mutavault in spells that care about how many faeries you control.

When keeping open mana for a Mutavault keep in mind that you can tap the Mutavault for mana and use that to animate himself.

I normally don't spend to much on Magic, a few cards here and there for the deck that I hope I can eventually build, FNM, and then when I get some extra money in the bank, I'll usually build one of my budget decks.
However, with the new job I got, I expect I'll be buying a box or two every release.
