Dredge?
General forum

So lately I have been trying to decide what the next I am going to make is going to be, and after looking around for ideas i came across Dredge on youtube. All of the vids were of turn 2 wins, etc., but i couldn't find anything on how the deck really works. Can anyone explain to me how Dredge decks work, and give me some staples for the deck? Preferably extended, but legacy is fine too.

Thank you for participating!
The Challenge is now closed. I'll need some time to go through all the entries, playtesting and evaluating them. I hope to post the follow-up article in 2 weeks or so.

Hi guys, just wanted to let you know that I haven't forgotten about this.
My last two months were quite full: Moving, solving trouble with my old and stubborn landlady that does 't really listen when you talk to her, getting my new place to look approximately like a place where a human lives. Actually, I'm still working on that last part. XD
I don't take the decision lightly, and with several decks following similar strategies it isn't an easy one either. If you want to help me, you can run 3 goldfish tests with your deck and post a comment with the outcome: The turn you won, the life you had left and the cards that delivered the final blows or had the most effect (running 4 or more tests and posting the best three results is cheating). I'll be testing each deck against an aggro simulator routine I've worked out.

So you probably forgot about this now, and probably no winner will be assigned?

Wow I totally forgot about this contest Casino647. I don't a winner will be assigned anytime soon as it's been 2 months since Triforce-Finder has been on.

T'was a busy time for me. I did indeed forget about this. But for comparison, I also missed out on the release of journey to nyx, several video games I was actually waiting for, and lots of other important or fun things. Moving to a new flat, solving issues with the now-former landlady, establishing supply routes and - most important point - having no internet for months because of that stupid effing crappy cable company does that to you... I just surfaced again, after almost getting lost in this ocean of bullshit i have to deal with.
Nonetheless, I apologize for leaving you guys hanging for so long. It's a shame to announce a contest, promise a prize, and then just vanish for months.
The problem I'm facing now is that I don't think I'm competent enough to pick the truly best deck. My favorite, sure. But that's not necessarily the one that deserves to win. Many of you picked the fog/stall approach, and that can only be judged properly with a thorough knowledge of the standard metagame. If anyone, preferably not a contestant wants to lend me a hand and judge the decks' performance, I'd be grateful for the help.
Or, an alternative, I'll just playtest them (or the copies I made, since some deleted their entry), and pick the most creative/enjoyable ones. Since I tend to turn everything into a overcomplicated science, that simple approach might actually yield faster results.

Okay, I think it's time to get closure on this issue. As some of you might have noticed, my activity in this forum has been almost zero, long enough to drop me from rank 112 to nothingness. I've barely had time for playing magic, much less for maintaining a presence here. Since I've finally decided to retire and let this account rest in peace, I should also put some kind of end to this thread.
Well, for starters, I couldn't spare the time to declare a winner for standard. I did so for modern, since it were only three (or four?) decks. However, I can't find the notes. Lucky me.
What I'll do now, is reward every participant who posted a valid entry with a token, since I've got no more use for my stocked tokens anyways. If I find the notes again (what I honestly doubt), the winner in the modern format will get an extra token and be announced here.
Here's a list of those participants, your token should arrive soon.
