Favourite Flavour Text

I'm always curious as to what flavour texts people are drawn to. There are a lot of deep ones and silly ones.

The following is my favourite flavour text:

"Baby dragons can't figure out humans-if they didn't want to be killed, why were they made of meat and treasure?" - Furnace Whelp

Let me know!~

Ahh.. so difficult there are so many awesome ones I've seen, I would be tempted to agree with patrickd117 the Fodder Cannon is pretty awesome..

But I only have my sliver deck here in front of me, my favourite one is;

Toxin Sliver - Legions.

"It doesn't need to use its venom - it just needs you to know it can."

May 25, 2010 2:24 p.m.

patrickd117 says... #15

Hmm, I like Obliterate as well, but rather the invasion block one: "For his family, Barrin made a funeral pyre of Tolaria." Though I like it because I love the invasion block story, as well as Barrin, and that scene is one of my favorites. Also pretty much anything Jaya Ballard has said in flavor text is pretty funny.

Keening Banshee ("Her cold wail echoes in the alleys and under-eaves, finding the unfortunate and turning their blood to ice")

... and Phyrexian Hulk ("It doesn't think. It doesn't feel/It doesn't laugh or cry./All it does from duck till dawn/Is make the soldiers die.")

You guys have caught a lot of my favorites. Two more to add to the list:

Minister of Impediments : "When it takes forever to learn all the rules, no time is left for breaking them."

Ferocity : "You lot go on ahead. I'll just keep killing them until it sticks."

I'm also really partial to the collective flavor of the Simic Guild's flavor texts from the Ravnica block, since many of them are styled as lab notes.

October 21, 2013 9:29 p.m.

8vomit says... #46

uhh what? is it really still going UP in price?!

October 21, 2013 9:38 p.m.

It's not $15 good, but it IS $15 sought-after.

A high percentage of the good decks in Standard right now are running black, and Downfall is easily the best black removal spell in the format (unless you count Thoughtseize ).

Every black deck is looking for a few copies of Downfall. In contrast, relatively few copies of the card have been opened so far. Card prices are inflated soon after their release for that reason. Hype plus lack of supply = $15.

October 21, 2013 9:39 p.m.

8vomit says... #48

i see it being about 6 once the hype dies down

October 21, 2013 9:40 p.m.

I see it settling somewhere around $8, realistically. While it's in Standard, at least.

October 21, 2013 9:41 p.m.

Or $6. That seems about right, too.
