Is there a way to foil a non-foil card?

I hope this is in the right forum, sorry if it's not admin. Anywho, I have a playset of Crop Rotation that I'd like altered and then foiled. Is it possible to take a non-foil card and foil it somehow? If so, does anyone know of a legit person that could do it?
Much thanks!
There is a way to foil non-foiled cards but it is kind of weird. It involves using nail polish to remove the art from a foil card, then printing the card you want on it (usually an alt). But as far as putting a kind of foil onto a regular card, I don't think it is possible. (see this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hp_l4Rb_Qx8)

Hmm. So, if I wanted an alt art foil Crop Rotation with that process, would it be tournament legal?

I'd be concerned that at that point it would be considered a proxy- there's no way to show that your foil Crop Rotation is actually a Crop Rotation printed on a foil Vizzerdrix or something.
Glue and glitter would work :]

Good points... I may just go the alter route. Thanks for the input folks, much appreciated!

@primtj17: What you described is NOT a way to foil a nonfoil card. It's a way to create a proxy.
Keep in mind that proxies are not legal in any event unless explicitly allowed by the event rules or issued by the head judge as a replacement for a card damaged during the course of the event.

aside from a foil proxy..... hmm
you could always try playing around with paint, ive never heard of anyone doing anything like this, but you could try putting a clearcoat of reflective paint or something similar to give a somewhat foil look.
or try doing the alter with metallic paints ... (again nothing ive ever heard of someone doing, but Could try it)
but if you try those ideas, try them on a basic land and see what you think before the real card.

You could foil most of a card without it being a proxy. As long as the name and mana cost are untouched and art is easily recognizable you could technically remove all the art from the card (I believe it can be scratched away, not positive though) except for the name and cost, slap some foil on it, recreate the art, and as long as the name and mana cost are unchanged it should be okay
A lot of work though, might not even be possible

I know of no way that a non-foil card could be made foil.
That said, it is possible to "alter" foils, but I personally don't do it -- it involves painting in negative space (ie, filling in spaces with regular paint and hiding the foiling underneath) to bring out the foiling on certain areas and give the alter more depth. Negative space isn't really my forte.
If you wanted a foil to be border-extended but have the extended art still foil in those areas, there isn't a way to do that using paint.

Would it be possible to add foiling to sleeves? Like a transparent foily finish.

The foiling process adds a layer of foil within the card, I'm sorry there is no way to foil a non-foil as far as i have heard. You can however alter it and give it a slight coat after it dries, or a nice sleeve.
