Mark Rosewater Confirms that a Completion of the Battle Land Cycle is a "When"

In this post, a user asked Mark Rosewater if any cycle of dual lands that are currently incomplete, most notably the battle lands/"tango lands" (i.e., Canopy Vista, Prairie Stream, Cinder Glade, and so forth) shall be completed, and Rosewater responded that it is more a matter of when those cycles shall be completed, rather than if they shall,, so I am very glad to hear that, as that is the dual land cycle that I most wish to see be completed, with the Horizon Canopy cycle at a close second and Nimbus Maze at third.

What does everyone else say about this? Are you glad to know that some cycles of dual lands that are currently incomplete shall eventually be completed?

In terms of the cycles of which they have completed half, I am relatively sure that the last ones are Amonkhet's cycling lands, Battle for Zendikar's buddy lands, and the horizon lands.

I suppose I wouldn't mind seeing the Mirage's slow-fetch cycle finished, but mostly out of curiosity than worth.

Idoneity, that makes me think that it was interesting that WotC finally completed the cycle of filter lands from Odyssey, twenty-three years later, after the filter lands from Shadowmoor and Eventide had been printed, rendering them nearly obsolete.

They gave us Thraben Inspector in a trenchcoat and people just played both. In singleton, I'll just play both.

(Though, I believe the Odyssey filters are superior, even if only slightly.)

How do the signet-lands (Mossfire Valley) make the filter lands (Fire-Lit Thicket) obsolete? I'd much rather take the more versatile one that can make both , and in the same permanent than the one that's stuck in between forever.

plakjekaas I think DemonDragonJ was saying that the Shadowmoor/Eventide filter lands made the Odyssey lands obsolete, even though the Odyssey lands were never a complete cycle.

legendofa, yes, that is why I am saying, since the Shadowmoor/Eventide filter lands are much more versatile than are the Odyssey filter lands, but it is nice to have both cycles.

Wow really? I've been waiting for this for YEARS!

I have them in my Legacy Cube because they fetchable and also relatively easy to play untapped. In Cube you will be lucky to have more than 5 or 6 non-basics in your 40 card deck.

I have a hacked version of the Duel of the Planeswalkers 2024 video game, and I designed the enemy tango lands as areas of World of Warcraft:

Blue/Green: Moonglade

Red/White: The Barrens

Blue/Red: Winterspring

Green/Black: Terokkar Forest

White/Black: Zangarmarsh

Every set that comes out I eagerly look for the rare lands, always disappointed. This is amazing news!
