Just going to leave this here.

Of note is this graph of attendance by format versus date:

HOLY SHIT MODERN AFTER 2012

Also of note: standard is really poorly attended.

How canthe last graph be different from the right part of the 1st graph? They both should shown attendance from 2012 and onwards right? Because if team limited is dropping in attendance, the first graph shouldn't show it to be still rising.

Did you check the significance / r score on limited? It's been a while since I looked at stuff like this but the limited dot plots in particular seem to be spread out quite a bit showing a ton of variation. For limited in particular, I question whether year alone is a reliable predictor or meaningful explanation for attendance. I feel like other factors are more important for limited in particular and this might not be very conclusive such that more investigation may be needed to explain patterns in limited attendance.

Unfortunately this isn't my data so I can't discuss raw score differences or run further tests. I would imagine you get looser r scores the more events are run because as you noted the variance is large.

In 2012 people were like "shit, fetch shock thoughtseize is so awesome" and thus the modern era began.
