So me and a friend got to chatting, and we got to talking about the sensory experience that is playing card games. And it occurred to me that I don't think I've ever seen any talk about this part of the game!
Personally, I love the smell of a fresh pack of cards. I like playing with the cards in my hands, sorting them, organizing them, etc. I especially love the feel of playing with a fully sleeved deck on a play mat. The cards slide and pick up so good and smooth, and shuffling a deck with sleeves is tremendously pleasing.
Anyone else have any favorite sensory experiences when it comes to Magic? What about the physical act of playing Magic makes you feel nice?

I like that every card has good art, at least on a technical level. Even the draft commons and 23rds look really good. I was playing against someone in Amonkhet draft and was looking at the Essence Scatter sitting in my hand, and it just popped into my head that this is actually a really nice piece of art.

Am I the only one who likes shuffling non sleeved cards?

The resounding smack of a double sleeved Counterspell hitting the hardwood kitchen table. The kind where you put down 80% the card and spring the last corner. Mmmmm
