If a card has been reprinted in standard, but hasn't changed at all, can the older version still be used in a standard deck? For example, Wall of Fire is exactly the same as the Tenth Edition Wall of Fire, but with different flavor text. I assume the answer would be no, but I thought I'd ask anyways; saving money is always nice.
yes aslong as the name and ability matches example Ponder from lorywn can still be used cause it was reprinted in 10th edition

If the card name is the same, and the colours and casting cost match, then it can still be used in tourneys... One such example of this is Rampant Growth
When it was first released it was worded...
"Search your library for a basic land card and put that card into play tapped. Then shuffle your library."
Old cards are still valid as long as you have a copy of the new text for anyone who is not sure of the oracle wording of the card.
Hope this helps to clarify

When I see LSV or Travis Woo or Frank Lepore play MTGO I see them having a clean and nice interface with sometimes what appears to be custom background type things. How would I go about getting the same?

There's a folder in the file location called backgrounds. Google custom playmats MTGO and you should find something. You basically replace one of the default ones in te folder with an appropriately sized picture of the same name.

There's also a difference in clients. There's the "standard" MTGO client and there's an open beta client. The open beta has a much cleaner GUI but has more stability problems in general than the older client, though any problems that appear consistently get fixed.
