Hi,
I’ve been wondering for a while now: why aren’t there blue mana spiders? Spiders are frequently associated with mystery, patience, guile, and even wisdom sometimes; everyone of them, blue mana traits. Even house dimir’s symbol is a spider.
Then, why aren’t there blue mana spiders?
EDIT.: Morever, why isn't there a dimir spider?!
From a game design perspective spiders almost need to have reach and reach is almost exclusively a green keyword. Also they are very similar to bugs and bugs are very tied to nature

All right, you give well founded reasons why they are green. I can understand why they are also black. However, red?! I still have trouble looking at [Thantis, the Warweaver]. I just hope the mages of the toast don't make a white spider before a blue one.

Oh my dear Bolas! :_( Why?, why?! Dimir guild deserves a blue spider. Nobody can deny that!
Thank you for your replies... :_(

My guess would be because all of those traits you’re suggesting are necessary for a spider to feed itself. The spider is not patient and wise for the sake of knowledge and enlightenment, it’s learned how best to sate it’s natural instincts. To preserve itself first. Green and black fit spiders just a bit better, simply due to the natural, self-preservation aspect of their intentions. IMO at least.
I think the fact that the Dimir have a spider-like symbol speaks more to their role as the roguish assassins than anything else.
