Other notes to Solar flare:
Most Solar flare decks (at least tier 1) are also running Liliana of the Veil to get creatures in the graveyard and Snapcaster Mage to flashback counters and removal spells.

Yeah I should've mentioned Liliana. I specifically didn't mention Snapcaster because its included in the UWB Control package.

The funny part? Solar Flare players will tell you it's NOT a reanimation deck, even though it seems like they rely on Unburial Rites .

This may be a silly question, but why is it called solar flare?

It's krillen's signature move, also look at Admonition Angel . And Solar Flare ISN'T a reanimation deck, that's just a bonus. It's primarily a control deck, anyone that runs more than 3 Unburial Rites actually doesn't know what they are doing.

Admonition Angel wasn't the right card, though I can't remember its name now, either.

The Zenith Sun deck you are thinking of is probably Kessig Wolf Run Ramp. Solar Flare is a different deck.
Solar Flare is currently a deck that resembles UWB Control and aims to win by resurrecting powerful creatures multiple times.
Key Cards: Forbidden Alchemy to put creatures into the graveyard, Unburial Rites to resurrect them.
Win Conditions: Any large creatures but the combo of Sun Titan and Phantasmal Image to repeat resurrect copied Sun Titans seems to be the most common. Others are Sheoldred, Whispering One and Elesh Norn, Grand Cenobite and of course Grave Titan .
