Buying a precon deck

I am buying a precon deck but can't decided which one. Evenet decks seem the most competitive and I'm currently looking at repeat performance. Any ideas on a strong precon that can still be bought for around $20, unlike Urza the plague.

Any help is welcomed

I liked the JOU event deck, it is . Was pretty nice right out the box, although I did modify it after the fact. Looked it up on ebay, seen a listing for 19.99.

My wife got the theros event deck. That one is and was really nice out of the box, at least I thought so. She also modified it into something mean. Listings on ebay are under 20 bucks though so maybe not as cool as I remember.

Only standard, or any format?

It ultimately depends on what format you're playing. For standard, event decks are your best bet. If you're looking at other formats, the commander products are very solid out of the box.

When they do release multiplayer supplements, like planechase or archenemy, those are a really fun series of decks to play

I actually recommend the M2015 Clash Decks, Fate & Fury. I think you can get it for about $25 depending on where you go. One is U/G, the other G/R, and both are very different and fun to mess around with. I've also played each against the other with my brothers, and won with both. Plus, if you decide to break them up, each has some rather nice cards to insert into other decks.

Another nice set for the price is the Speed vs Cunning Duel Decks. Cheap ($15), and while not the greatest cards, at least interesting enough and decently matched.

If you have Ebay or something like it, see if you can track down a Fate Blaster deck from planar chaos. Prolly the funnest precon I've played.
