So i have been working on a casual format that basically lets you choose a class. Its kinda self explanatory. Im working on creating classes and balancing at the moment, this is what I have so far:

Spellshaper:

Before the game starts write down two cards. Instant and sorcery spells you cast without one of the chosen names cost mana symbol 1 more to cast. Instant and sorcery spells with one of the chosen names cost mana symbol 1 less to cast. Whenever you cast a spell with one of the chosen names, copy that spell. You may choose new targets for the copy.

Sangromancer

pay 2 life:Draw a card

Pay 1 life:Scry 1

Animist:

Lands you control have tap:add mana symbol gmana symbol g to your mana pool. Whenever a land you control leaves the battlefield, you lose half your life, rounded down.

mind mage

Whenever you cast an instant or sorcery spell that causes an opponent to reveal there hand, or allows you to look at an opponents hand, copy that spell and you may choose new targets for the copy.

so what do you guys think?

Seems alright but why does the animist lose half their life rounded down say you cracked a Misty Rainforest at your starting life total 20 for example you go to 19 then half your life round down go to 9 you all ready did Half your opponents work for them aside from that sounds fun might try introducing this my play group also here's an idea for a new class Shapeshifter mana symbol 3 and 3 life when a creature enters the this turn put a creature that is a copy of that creature

Here's something me and friends were working on. It was a real pain putting in all the spaces so give it a gander. Feel free to use any of it it's super casual and we don't care about credit.

Fighter
- You have maximum HP of 40. Gain back 10 after a long rest.
- Equipment costs mana symbol 1 less to equip.
- Attacking creatures you control get +X/+0 where X is the number of attacking creatures.
- Attacking creatures also gain your choice of first strike or vigilance until end of combat. (Choose at start of each combat.)
- You may discard a card to give target creature +X/+0 until end of turn where X is the number of cards in your hand.
- You may discard a card to take half damage until end of turn; if you do so you cannot use this ability again until your next turn.

Advanced Fighter Options (Pick 2 after every 10 battles.)
- Equipment costs mana symbol 1 less to cast and mana symbol 1 less to equip. (Stacks with other ability)
- Equipment you control has totem armor.
- Creatures you control may block for other party members.
- Blocking creatures you control get +0/+X where X is their defense.
- At the end of each of your combat you may discard a card; if you do there is another combat step.
- You have Max HP 60.

Rogue
- You have Max HP 20. Gain back 6 after a short rest.
- Creatures you control with Unblockable or Shadow get +4/+0.
- Creatures you control have haste.
- You may discard a card to have a creature you control death-touch until end of turn.
- You may discard a card to give target creature Unblockable AND Shadow until end of turn.
- You may discard a card to give yourself or a creature you control shroud until end of turn; if you do so you cannot activate this ability again until your next turn.

Wizard
- You have max HP 15. Gain back 5 after a short rest.
- Whenever you cast a spell that doesn't draw cards you may tap target creature you control; if you do copy that spell.
- Whenever you cast or copy a spell you may tap target creature.
- You may discard a card to have creatures your opponent control enter the battlefield tapped; if you do those creatures do not un-tap during their controller's next untap step.
- You may discard a card to cast a sorcery card from your hand as if it had flash.

Advanced Wizard Opions (Choose two every 5 levels)
- Creatures you control have Levitate. (They are not affected by spells that do not affect creatures with "Flying")
- Creatures you control can mana symbol t to activate abilities right away and you have an additional untap step where you can only untap creatures.
- You may sacrifice a creature to have target opponent lose life equal to that creatures converted mana cost once per turn.
- You may discard a card to create a duplicant of yourself. Until end of turn if you wold take damage you do not. Activate this ability only once per long rest.

Cleric
- You have max HP 30. Gain back 8 after a short rest.
- Whenever you draw a card you may gain 1 life for each creature you control or have target player gain life equal to the total power of creatures you control.
- You may discard a card to give yourself a damage shield equal to the number of turns you've taken since your last rest.
- You may discard a card to give creatures you control +x/+0 until end of turn where X is the number of times you have healed other players.

Ranger
- You have 25 HP. Gain back 6 after a long rest.
- Attacking creatures get +2/+0 and blocking creatures you control get +0/+2.
- During an opponents turn you may copy mana symbol g spells for each creature you control.
- Spells you control that target an opponent cost mana symbol 1 less to cast of any color.
- You may discard a card to copy target spell you control that deals damage.

We were designing it to be played with arch enemy but never got it done all the way. We planned for monster cards controlled by the archenemy to all have additional effects that simply gave them a buff or caused life loss and in some cases acted like classic MTG spells like Sleep.

Oh and most importantly you can only do each of these once per round unless your abilities say otherwise:
- Attack.
- Cast a creature spell.
- Cast a non-creaure spell.
- Use an Insant on another players turn.

That part was meant to mimic the "Action" rules of DnD 5.0.

the animist thing was meant to give it a disadvantage because it seems extremely powerful, but I didn't think about fetch lands. maybe something like whenever a forest leaves.

Artificer

Sacrifice an artifact:Search your library for an artifact with cmc equal to or less than that cards cmc and put it onto the battlefield.

Discard an artifact:Search your library for an artifact and put it into your hand

Enchanter

Whenever an enchantment enters the battlefield under your control, you may pay mana symbol 2. If you do, put a token onto the battlefield thats a copy of that card.
