Guardians says... #2

I also really want to make a Sphinx's Tutelage/Paradoxical Outcome/Altar of the Brood mill deck with 0-mana artifacts.

What do you all think of that didea

December 26, 2016 1:14 p.m.

EpicFreddi says... #3

So it would be my build, but replace Aetherflux with Altar and slam in tutelage?Could work.

pumpkinwavy, now I have a request: Can your LGS send T/O Frontier tournament results? There is an LGS page on this site in which they can post updates. I specifically would like the top decklists so I can build a comprehensive meta analysis and get proper decks and sideboards working. I'm going to be making a lot of articles so I certainly need data.

December 26, 2016 5:13 p.m.

Femme_Fatale says... #5

For anyone who has an LGS that has tournaments: Please encourage their LGS to send their information through here. Simply go to (or create) the LGS's page and post a comment (anyone can do it) of the deck lists! And then link here which LGS's host Frontier tournaments so I can gather all that data.

I am curious as to why people think cruise and dig are bannable in the format as is. When they where in standard with these cardsthey were good but not busted. They are certainly dangerous and should be watched as the format grows. But banning them right now seems silly. (apologies for typos & grammer a bit dyslexic)

December 27, 2016 2:40 a.m.

EpicFreddi says... #7

I playtested the 0-Drop-storm yesterday on mtgo.
Two people ragequit, one conceded after I just rendomly gained 100 life and one actually won. The deck is weirdly consistent. I love it.

December 27, 2016 3:51 a.m.

Dorotheus says... #8

Cruise doesn't need banned right now, it lacks the selection that DTT does. Dig in the decks that use it, is too easily abused for value and works insanely well with Torrential Gearhulk.

As far as ragequits, I don't count them as games, everything is meant to be playtested if you can't run the game clock and life totals down to 0, then what's the point?

December 27, 2016 5:32 a.m.

Duskmantle says... #9

Is the selection off of dig that busted? It is good value but if that was a bannable offense we would have to axe a lot cards. Without cantrips or good fast combo decks to abuse it dig seems like its not much a problem. It just draws you two spells. Now if there was a card that drew you two spells and the mana to cast those spells that might be to good.

December 27, 2016 6:23 a.m.

EpicFreddi says... #10

Sure, the games have no value for playtesting, but it shows me that the deck works. It's a non-interactiv, stupid and fast combo deck, so ragequitting is not a bad sign.

God, I have so many ideas for Frontier. I just built 4c dragons and now I'll built 4c Superfriends with Narset, Enlightened Master.

Duskmantle says... #12

There are a lot of cool build arounds and good stuff decks that have potential in the format. It has been a lot of fun to play. Wish the fetchlands were not there as it adds extra time to each round and coco is a bit to good but other than that it is great fun right now.

December 27, 2016 3:53 p.m.

Dorotheus says... #13

Right now I think I'm going to try and play every variant of Humans as possible, maybe. I have RW, Jeskai, and a Monowhite that need a little work. GW interests me, so it's probably next.

Zaueski says... #14

I havent built a deck or commented here yet, but I have been thinking about this new format and I have a lot of ideas... I think its almost time to redownload xmage and test some brews, I've got about 3 different ideas running around in my head but I need to do sone more digging to see how functional it is, 1st one is Ensoul Affinity mainly trying to win off of Gearseeker Serpent or Ensoul Artifact, the second is an Abzan Aristocrats Company build that just floods the board and provides a lot of reaction through guys like Nantuko Husk, and then finally I never got to play with Jeskai Ascendency and that card looks super fun lol especially with Monastery Mentor

December 27, 2016 11:17 p.m.

Duskmantle says... #15

I have built and played several Jeskai decks, they are a lot of fun, Ascendancy is such a fun card to play with/ build around.

God, I just created a sliver deck. I'm addicted to this format. I wish I could afford all the cards on mtgo.

December 28, 2016 4:16 a.m.

brokendwarf says... #17

Weren't Slivers in M14?

December 28, 2016 9:14 a.m.

EpicFreddi says... #18

There were 7 (!) in M15. Plus Sliver hive. It's not a good deck, but hey, it's a deck.
I'll dissobey my own rules and post a decklist. I'm such a badboy.

December 28, 2016 9:18 a.m.

Guardians says... #19

What were the seven? Also no obelisk of urd for your deck?

December 28, 2016 9:33 a.m.

EpicFreddi says... #20

Damn it, I new i forgot something.
And it's only 6 though: All dem slivers

Woodland Bellower with Panharmonicon is value incarnate.

December 28, 2016 12:11 p.m.

brokendwarf says... #24

Oh, I just read the "non-elf" part.

So basically, what else is good besides 4-of Panharmonicon, Siege Rhino, and Elvish Visionary

December 28, 2016 12:28 p.m. Edited.

TheRedGoat says... #25

@EpicFreddi Rally? Or for something more appropriate to Kaladesh you could use the puzzleknots and do a "colorless" energy build? It would never be very competitive but it could be budget friendly.

December 28, 2016 2:53 p.m.

brokendwarf says... #26

EpicFreddi: Here's one I threw together for non-elf panharmonicon.

December 28, 2016 2:55 p.m.

Dorotheus says... #27

My friend slowlycrashing built Eldrazi Panharmonicon. Eldrazi Displacer is great.

ohmygod Siege Rhino + Panharmonicon.

Officialy sweetest format ever.

Y'all asleep? We need to brew decks, wake up!

I've learned after a lot of playtesting that Grixis Control variants basically scoop to an ensouled Darksteel Citadel. Languish doesn't take it out, it eats Tasigurs, Anglers, Dragonlords.

5/5s in general are noticably better (and 4/4s noticably worse)than in say, Standard, because of Rhino, something to keep in mind. Curious to see how well Deflecting Palm works out as a sideboard card for decks. It makes a rhino not actually exist (in terms of opponent's life total) for a full two turns, which is nice.

December 29, 2016 2:30 p.m.

Bovine073 says... #32

As for deck brewing, there are a lot of ways to exploit the Eldrazi Displacer+Brood Monitor combo. Panharmonicon = infinte creatures and colorless mana, Zulaport Cutthroat wins you the game on the spot, I'm curious of how the best way to build this deck is. Chords? Company? EldEvolution?

Bovine073 If we were to play with Panharmonicon, I'd say we only take Chord. If we play without, we can play Coco aswell. Just a mix of manadorks, duskwatch recruiter and combo pieces. I'll build it later.

December 30, 2016 3:04 a.m.

EpicFreddi says... #36

To Broodfinity and Beyond!
Bovine073 I built this one. Don't know about the Duskwatch, maybe I just want to cast cards.

December 30, 2016 7:43 a.m.

I've spent the past few weeks working on Mono-Red Goblins, and I think I have something very powerful. On average, it wins on turn 4 or 5 in goldfish conditions, and does fairly well versus the other frontier decks on tappedout. Here's my current decklist. Does anyone have any ideas about Mono-Red Goblins, or other tribal decks in Frontier?

I'd say go down two lands and play Frenzied Goblin.

December 30, 2016 9:17 a.m.

Bovine073 says... #40

Goblins really doesn't want to be running Galvanic Bombardment imo. As Freddi Said, Frenzied Goblin is a great card.

December 30, 2016 9:29 a.m.

Guardians says... #41

God cut some lands and galvanic bombardments for frenzied goblin, as said above, and some wild slash

Zaueski says... #42

I'm currently brewing up a Grixis Summonings deck, the delve mechanic makes that care go from jank to maybe competitive... Just still looking for something Thought Scourish to keep the grave yard full... Torrential Gearhulk, and Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip would be great finishers. Maybe Cathartic Reunion to keep the yard full? Idk but it definitely seems like the deck is there as long as I can find enough cantrips

December 30, 2016 9:46 a.m.

primtj17 says... #43

Zaueski you can try going UB and using Collective Brutality. Black also give you access to delve cards like DTT, Murderous Cut, and Tasigur.

December 30, 2016 12:53 p.m.

Zaueski says... #44

DTT is blue... And Grixis is Red, Black, Blue... I don't think there's a reason to not run red? Lol

December 30, 2016 1:26 p.m.

primtj17 says... #45

Oh whoops didnt see Grixis there. Absolutely go for it. Gives you radiant flames in three colors, cathartic reunion like you said, and a load of other sweet cards. Make one up and share it.

AwezomePozzum says... #46

December 30, 2016 10:37 p.m.

Dorotheus says... #47

TOP busted cards in Frontier at the moment, not in order:
1) Dig Through Time
2) Spell Queller
3) Reflector Mage
4) Jace, Vryn's Prodigy  Flip
4) Aetherworks Marvel

There is definitely differences between power levels of these cards. But as it stands, these are the most difficult or impossible things to deal with without you also running them.

December 30, 2016 11:59 p.m.

Duskmantle says... #48

The fact that Collected Company is not on that list makes me question your card evaluation a bit

December 31, 2016 12:18 a.m.

Duskmantle says... #49

Did you just forget it?

December 31, 2016 12:25 a.m.

Zaueski says... #50

Lol primtj17 and AwezomePozzum, it might be a little bit before I can get to it though... I have a lot of testing to do on my new standard combo deck, I'm trying to finalize my version of this deck so I can say it was my deck cause its so close to being an oppresive combo deck that doesn't care what you do...
