I can't see any benefits to running either over 4 Color delver. The mana base isn't any better and you lose out on either Abrupt Decay or Lightning Bolt.

They're just different game plans really. I enjoy playing Castlevania (European 4c Delver) but occasionally swap back to RUG Delver. I usually play Castlevania into blind metas but I'll customize RUG Delver if I have a really good idea of what decks I'll run into. RUG Delver is naturally more flexible as it has more flex spots available, it's really just a matter of knowing what to throw into it to make it run more efficiently in the meta.

4C Delver is just an accident waiting to happen when you step into resource denial decks. its trivially easy to cut you out of 2 colors right away, it just doesnt play the low resources game very good.

The mana base in 3c delver lists are stronger not by being wasteland proof, IE more basics. The manabases are stronger since they can run more copies of each relevant dual. Rug running 3 volcs and 3 trops, means half their lands can cast goyf and half can cast bolt. 4c delver doesn't have access to the density of cards that enable strong tempo plays, playing more like a good stuff midrange deck. On the other hand, bug delver has easier access to BB to cast Lilly of the veil(a card 4c delver has no room for) and hymn To tourach.
