Evolutionary Leap in Legacy NicFit?
Legacy Deck Help forum

Hello fellow Legacyplayers!
I'll make a very long story very short: Do you guys think Evolutionary Leap could work in NicFit?
Some might argue that Birthing Pod is the better card, but I don't think so. Given that Evo-Leap operates at instant speed and comes down way earlier, I think it's the better card.
What do you guys think? Any experience?
Birthing pod is the far better card - you get to put the creature on the battlefield.

Pod also gives you more control, provides tempo, and is only 3 mana really.

I am not sure. There is not a ton of central cards at the two drop slot in nic-fit, and veteran explorer is probably what you want to be sacrificing. Birthing pod cannot operate at instant speed which limits its flexability. I'm not sure about this one.

firesoftheforest17 agreed on that. Pod is a little bit clunky with the (fair) CMC limitation.
The dream would be topdecking explorer with Leap in play and pretty much cantrip it for free into another creature (2 mana to play, 2 mana out of the explorer).

It just depends on really on what shell it is. If it's more creature intensive (22+) and more able to chain off then Birthing Pod is superior in that aspect but I can see Evolutionary Leap being better if you combine with Sensei's Divining Top where you can set up a array of options like
Spin Top>see creatures>evo leap out to what you want if you have a board. That is some nasty stuff there.

I'll just post my very experimental list here and see what you guys think about it.
I'll nic fit this deck in my mouth.
I have a red splash for shit's 'n giggles and because I think Realm Razer is a cool card.

I love the concept. I feel like this list could fit the Punishing Fire and Grove of the Burnwillows synergy perfectly, beyond running the leap which I'm interested in. I might test the list out with a few more tops and the punishing fire synergy and see what kind of results it puts out on untap.

it seems slow and mana-intensive. what creature card would you like in your hand instead of in play?
