How about Moat?

This is my favourite deck: Tipping the scale (Stasis). It uses Ral Zarek and Stasis to shut my opponent down so i can win with Jace, the Mind Sculptor. Ive been using Propaganda to fend off their creatures and its working pretty well, except for one problem: Apparently they can still attack my planeswalkers..
Im considering taking out the 3x Propaganda for 1x Moat and another 2x Enlightened Tutor (thats how the current decklist is setup). Now before i get the Moat, is this a good plan? It stops a lot of creatures, and even some entire decks if i can keep it alive, but fliers can still attack and its double ..

guessling im aware of the price tag. Im actually trading for it. One pack fresh Tarmogoyf for one dirty italian Moat. Fliers is a problem, but i still run 4x Swords to Plowshares to exile the most troublesome fliers, and when Stasis eventually hit they cant attack no more than once anyways. I considered also adding Humility to have another lock in the deck (with both pieces tutorable with Enlightened Tutor), but Humility ended up in my sideboard.

Ahah! That makes a difference!
I would drop a Tarmogoyf for a Moat!
I see a difference between moving around cards between hands and dropping mad cash for one card, personally.
It seems situational as to whether or not Humility or Moat would be better. Humility would shut my stasis deck down, for instance, and Moat would be almost humorous against my deck (all creatures in it have Vigilance and almost all have Flying.)
On the other hand, if you have no use for a Tarmagoyf and a possible use for Moat I would go for it totally!
If you have time to consider the trade then you may want to consider proxy testing.

Yes Humility are sometimes better. Thats why i considered running both so i could tutor for the one i want with Enlightened Tutor, and drop the second later to buy me enough time to assemble the Stasis lock. Im actually still consider Humility mainboard.
Ive been playtesting a bit, and the most notable difference is that Enlightened Tutor becomes quite efficient. Usually, if you have Ral Zarek you tutor for Stasis. If you dont have Ral you tutor for Moat/Humility to buy you some time to find him. And against some decks, like Elves (popular in my meta), you only need Moat and Jace, the Mind Sculptor to win.
To make Enlightened Tutor even more efficient it would be nice to have an artifact or enchantment that messes with creatureless combo decks.

I think most creatureless combo decks are dealing in enchantments and artifacts. I think that most enchantment and artifact hate comes in the form of instants and sorceries. One exception that comes to mind is Aura Shards but the is not Stasis-friendly!

At that point maybe you consider playing some sort of enchantment package. Could play Helm of Obedience and Rest in Peace as a win con.

xlaleclx I like the Helm of Obedience + Rest in Peace combo. It would be nice to have another wincon, and i like having Rest in Peace mainboard against many decks. Energy Field is another one that goes great with Rest in Peace, maybe as sideboard against burn :).
Do you think 1x Rest in Peace and 1x Helm of Obedience is enough? I have 4x Enlightened Tutor after all. Do you have any suggestions for what to take out?

Norn's Annex keeps em off of both and can be out the same turn you drop propaganda but the payment is different, just a thought.. nice deck :)

Annex doesn't stop them nearly as well because they can pay life to get through. Stasis keeps them off the mana they need to attack through Propaganda, but it doesn't work with Annex.

Huh, don't think I've ever seen a spam bot bump a thread on here...

If it were me, I would go beyond deck considerations and also ask questions like: Do I want a Moat or a new piece of furniture more? This is just me, though - I do not mean to imply that other people should have the same kind of budget treatment of this game that I have, and certainly there are people who would ask me similar questions about some of my cards. This is a personal thing.
That being said, the card is worth quite a bit for a reason. I would consider which creatures are getting through more. If its Delver of Secrets Flip or 1/1 Spirit tokens, obviously, throwing this extra cash at your deck won't help. If it's green stompy stuff, then it will help a ton - but they have access to quite a lot of enchantment hate. If it's goblins then it will probably help, but then they have access to burn anyway so it might not save your plainswalkers.
I would definitely think it over a little carefully! There may be some other way to deal with creatures like stealing a few of them to block, making a few of your own, or hosing them, board wipes, bounce, or using fog effects - and still be able to get that fancy new grill or table set or computer screen ... or ... whatever you might fancy more than a piece of paper ... if you do fancy any such things more (not everyone does).
I don't mean to come off rude at all ... I just think any card purchase of this magnitude should be given a lot of consideration. I would also wonder if Moat didn't prove to be a silver bullet for this deck, could you use it elsewhere? I think the answer is yes.
edit: Frankly, I also have a small Stasis deck and it runs fliers as the attackers (almost exclusively) and it is azorius - so I have looked at this Moat card myself and that is why I brought up some of the comments that I did!
