Ichorid Vs nether shadow
Legacy Deck Help forum

Sorry if this is the wrong thread but I was curious whether or not we could run nether shadow in mana dredge to replace ichorid as ichorid is 7.99 and nether shadow is only 1.99, and except ichorid's larger body and less restricted reanimation parameters, they both seem like preference however if I am wrong I would like to know. Thanks in advance

No that is a horrible replacement. Ichorid's ability to die end of turn and trigger Bridges is key.

You can play mana, non-Lion's Eye Diamond Dredge to save some cash, but the other enablers like Ichorid, Narcomoeba, and so forth are key pieces to the deck and aren't replaceable.

Yeah you really need Ichorid to trigger Bridge from Below and as a target for Flayer of the Hatebound, recurring critters are quite important for dredge to keep up so much as to even include Gemstone Mine and Undiscovered Paradise with a set of Bloodghast's to trigger even further and add some resilience to the deck (allowing for counterspells)

I think that the 3/1 body on Ichorid makes a huge difference compared to Nether Shadow, but I'm not a legacy buff. There's probably someone more qualified to answer your question.
It also seems that Ichorid is easier to trigger, potentially.
